I have a Husqvarna Viking (500) Sewing Machine. I jammed too much fabric in, causing the machine to jam. When I turned it on again, it worked EXCEPT the foot peddle is not responding at all! Could this be something that I could re-align, or do you think it needs a part replaced? Help!

Huskies are the Best! Please remove the feeder plate - under the needle, and look for any fabric still jammed. Remove any way you can - small screwdriver, nail-file. (It will take removing a small screw or two.) Unless you find metal parts, broken bits, you did not break anything. Removing bunched fabric should do it.
On the other hand, if you do find broken parts - Viking is Amazing! They can machine broken parts of sewing machines and guns, back before 1900! Love them! Just remove any parts related to where fabric cound be jammed, remove all you find, and try again.

Take to authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for repair. This is not something that can be done by the owner. Check Husqvarna Viking website for dealer closest too you.

SOURCE: Sewing thick fabric and machine won't send it through

Sergers are not really meant to sew very thick material. The blades have a maximum amount of range, or thickness that they can reach to cut. If you go outside that range, get ready for a big repair bill! You can break loopers and even the needle plate when you "push" a serger. My advise would be to use you sewing machine for the, "pounding" work. The type of material matters too, A thick Quilt like fabric can be sewn becatuse it's not dense material. A thinner harder denim could max out at 3 layers because of it"s hard finish. If the fabric you're sewing isn't dense like, you could just need new knives.

The bobbin/needle jam is often a threading issue. Rethread both and try again. If that doesn't work, let me know.

Why is bobbin tread jamming on my husqvarna viking juliett sewing machine

Most of the time, you should rethread the machine, take the bobbin out and put it in again and change the needle. Generally if it is jamming under the fabric, it is because something is wrong with the top ie rethread the machine.

Machine not working

I had this happen the first day I got my machine. The bobbin case has probably came loose from the holder. There is a step by step cleaning instruction in the manual and it tells you how to reset the bobbin case in the holder in the manual.
