Assuming it is not actually full, this might mean the card is incompatible with the camera (too high a capacity) or it might mean it needs formatting. Usually a camera will say if it needs formatting, so I would check the camera specs to see whether you have a memory size it can handle. SDHC cards are not backwards compatible with SD cards.

SOURCE: Camera saying memory full to a brand new memory card.

You may have a defective memory card. Have you tried it in a different device? Do you have a card reader on your printer or computer? If so, try inserting the card and see if your computer can read the card, and write files to the card.

SOURCE: The camera doesn't accept new memory card put into the camera

Sorry that this answer is far too late to be of use to you, but it may help others searching for advice with the same fault. I only stumbled across your unanswered question by accident.

8GB is an SDHC card. Your camera was designed to use the earlier SD cards instead with a maximum 1GB capacity.

It may be telling you that the internal memory is full. You must get rid of anything in there. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your new card and do the "format" thing again.

New camera can’t take pictures and keep saying memory full.

Have you added any memory card?
By default most camera have storage space for a very few pictures.
If you added the card, format it first.
If none works, throw it back to the seller since is guarantee covered!
Do not keep a faulty item since is new.

Not recognizing new memory card, it keeps saying my data storage is full even though I have added the memory card

Some phones you have to go into Settings and Mount the memory card before the phone will recognize it. As the previous answer said, check you phone's manual to make sure you haven't put a card in that is too big for the phone to recognize.

Installing SD Memory Card

Your camera has a memory card slot that enables you to insert any "SD" compatible memory card up to 8BG. Adding a memory card will allow you to increase the capacity of your camera before you have to transfer photos and videos to your PC. Install the SD memory card as below:

  1. Locate the Memory Card slot within the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the Memory card into the slot in the correct direction. (see the sketch below)
7
  1. Push the card in until you feel it "click" into position. The top of the card should be flushed with the surface of the camera. An icon will appear on the LCD screen after you turn on your camera.
  2. Once the external memory card is inserted into the camera all the images taken with the camera will be stored on the card.

Note:

  1. Limited internal memory is provided for test images. The image will be deleted when camera power is turned off. Please download the images before power off .SD memory card is required for normal use.
  2. An external memory card is required for normal use. Your camera supports any compatible SD memory card (up to 8GB).
  3. If there is a photo in the internal memory when you insert the card into your camera, a "Copy to card" message will appear on the LCD with Yes or No options. On selecting 'Yes' the photo will now be copied to your card.
  4. Formatting will delete all data on the SD memory card including protected data.
8
  1. Don't remove the SD card during formatting as this may damage the card and render it unusable.
  2. When your card is full, download the media on the SD card to your PC and delete the photos and videos from it in order to continue using your

C142 kODAK DIGITAL CAMERA. ADVISING INTERNAL MEMORY IS FULL. I HAVE PURCHASED A NEW MEMORY DISK BUT STILL GETTINGTHE SAME MESSAGE AND WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO TAKE PICTURES.

The internal memory is not the same as the memory card memory. The camera needs some elbowroom in the internal memory to work at all. It can't use the card memory while the internal memory is full. You need to delete some pictures from the internal memory, then insert the memory card, and it should work (assuming it is formatted correctly and is otherwise compatible).

New camera ,not working.

lol, ok...The memory card will only go in one way. But check the little white switch on the side of the memory card and make sure it is NOT in the locked position. Once this is taken care of reinstall the memory card. Now in you options/menu screen you can select on there where you want your pictures to be stored...Device / Memory / Auto. You can either put it on Memory or Auto (if you have this). In addition, you may need to format your new memory card. This is also in your menu screen to Format Memory Card. Go ahead and do this. But be forwarned...if you do this when you have pictures on your card, it will erase all of your pictures completely. If you do those things, everything should work fine. You don't need a full charge for your camera to work, but if you have rechargable batteries, it is recommended to fully charge your camera before use. If you are using standard AA batteries this isn't necessary. Oh, and when your memory card is in the camera you should see a little icon on your LCD screen that looks like a mini memory card. This is an indicator that the camera recognizes you have the memory card in the camera and along with that will be a counter...ie 4/1200. The first number is the amount of pictures taken on the card currently and the second number is the total possible pictures you can take on the card before it is full.

New card

According to the instructions that came with the camera, it states that a maximum of 256 mb memory card is allowed. So, 1G amd 2G memory cards won't work. Like you, I bought a 2G memory card, getting the same message that the card was full so when I checked the manual, I saw my mistake. Live and Learn! I should have checked the manual BEFORE I bought this card. Now I have to go out and buy the 256 mb memory card (and I'll save the 2G card for a new camera that I hope to buy in the future).[email protected]
