How can I get my Maglite working again?

Make sure you cleaned ALL the corrosion out of the battery cell, and also you may have a faulty On/Off button.?The battery contacts must be absolutely clean. That is my best assumption

Put new batteries in it,turned it on and still wont work, you think it might be the bulb

Before replace the bulb, check for rust or dirt inside the electrical contacts. clean it. if still wont work, replace the bulb.

My Maglite torch that takes two AA batteries will not switch on. I think I require a replacement were the bulb fits into its connection.

Hi,
The top just screws off and the bulb just pulls out....there should be a replacement bulb in the bottom cap under the spring inside that little plastic holder...just do not touch the bulb with you fingers when installing it. use a tissue paper to hold the bulb...
Line up the two little wires with the holes and gently press the new bulb in...

I had my mini Maglite taken apart and a small (tiny) metal part fell out....I found it but now I don't know how it goes back on ....it was somewhere near the light bulb area. John

There are 2 tiny clips that hold the bulb in and make contact with the rim of the barrell. They can be difficult to get back in without prying the plastic piece out of the end. Once you pry it out, it never works the same.

2AA LED Maglite not working

The Led are most likely not burned out they last 10,000 hours or more. Sounds more like defect.

I have replaced batteries and bulb in maglite flashlight. Problem is still the same. The light comes on but immediately dims to very poor light. Can't get at switch ---it's a maglite.

Sounds like a bad switch, but if you live in the US, you have a limited lifetime warranty on your light.

Contact Maglite at: http://www.maglite.com/feedback.asp

You should also consider installing a LED bulb in your light. If you use it much at all, it will quickly pay for itself in battery life and the light is a lot whiter.

Mini Maglite not working

You could have dirty contacts if the batteries were in for a long time and you never used it. The contacts are: (1) the tip of the spring and (2) where the positive end of the battery touches way inside the flashlight. You can try and clean them with alcohol. If you think it might be the bulb, try the spare. There is a spare bulb under the spring you see at the base of the flashlight when you install the batteries, you have to pull the spring out and then snap it back in after you get the bulb out. And yes, positive end goes in first in the Maglite. Hope this helps.
