It seems like im having some issue with my syncmaster2493 monitor. it will black out and once i wiggle the power cord it will come back on. any help will be apprecaited

Hello,

Your power supply board is failing and when you wiggle the cord it is turning it on and off until it finally starts up. There are parts called capacitors that start failing and it will cause intermittent power issues such as slow to show picture, flashing power button, wavy or flashing picture. The board can be repaired and the monitor will be as good as new. Here is a picture of the power supply with the parts circled that need to be replaced.

Hello,

The Samsung 2493HM monitor are known to have an issue with the power supply. When the power supply fails you get the 'no power' or 'slow to show picture' problems like you are having. The board can be repaired and the monitor will be just like new again. This is what the power supply board looks like:

Most LCD monitors fail after a couple of years!
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Hello,

Your power supply is going out. LCD monitors have a common issue. The heat buildup in the in the cases cause parts called capacitors to overheat and bulge. When they bulge out the don't operate properly and cause the power supply to not start up correctly or not at all. First thing check the warranty, Most Samsung units have a 3year parts and labor warranty. If it is out of warranty then repair it yourself. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. Check out our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com We don't have your exact monitor but you should be able to look at other Samsung guide we have posted and see the parts that need to be replaced. Open your case and replace any capacitors that are bulging and you should be back going again. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for you unit, check our site for details.

I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.

Samsung syncmaster 960BG is always black, but windows program starting normaly. what is the problem ?

I have been same problem but in other type syncMaster, the solution is open your LCD monitor look for power supply module (PCB which have connector to AC power), on that PCB look for capacitor , for normal condition its look like small tube. now look for broken one which upper part is bloated.

No picture; no operation except flashing blue lcd light.

Look at the power supply first, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
