Hello, I am the technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.Welcome to Fixya, Rifaguant.

Try the Vista drivers, Click here to download the Audio driver.
Select your Operating system as Windows Vista 32bit.

Click Audio heading and then click global to download, you may have to try both drivers if the first one doesn't work.

If they both don't work then:
ASUS has not created Windows 7 drivers for the Audio chipset on this mainboard. You will need to purchase a basic sound card to fit the White long PCI slot compatible with Windows 7.

Try eBay or your local computer store.

Take care!
Norman-Wynne Damstra

I am not able to hear sound from my P5VD2-vm/s

Go to ASUS site and download drivers for Vista - there are none for Win-7.
Get 64 bit if you installed 64 bit Win-7 - otherwise get 32 bit.

My pc with the motherboard P5VD2-MX SE has no audio after installing windows 7, the driver didn't install properly and asking a support:WNT_5.1H_MCE.

This is your board with Asus's link:
http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5VD2MX_SE/#download
It doesn't show support for Windows 7 however, some that are compatable with Vista are also compatable with Win 7. Try uninstalling the driver then try to install using Asus link. If that doesn't work do the same here:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
You can try this also though, I don't believe you have the AC97 codec.
Good luck,
Dave

My asus p5vd2-mx se graphics intergrated motherboard has started playing up since i installed windows 7 my sound has gone and keeps freezing etc

There have been quite a few issues with Windows 7 compatabilty with software from prior versions. You have VIA P4M890 and VT8327 chipsets, Via Unichrome Pro graphics and Realtek ALC660 sound. Asus does not show support for Windows 7 and your board byt, in some instances, Vista will work. Tjis is Asus's link:
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5VD2MX_SE/#download
You can try your sound here:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
The Unichrome Pro doesn't show anY support passed Win XP. You do have a PCIe x 16 slot so, if you can't live without Windows 7, a graphics card with windows 7 support is an option. With the Radeon HD cards, you can get sound and audio.

Can install windos 7 in my pc. my pc is "asus p5vd2-x, 1 GB ram, 512 grafic card and 3 GHZ proccesor.

I believe your computer specification meets the minimum requirements for Windows 7. However, for better performance, it is recommended that you have 2 GB of RAM.

No sound in win 7 with P5VD2-MX motherboard

Hi again,

I've just run a check, and Asus don't have driver support for win7 on the P5VD2-MX, not sure if they ever will. Though they do have the drivers for Vista (32Bit),

You can download them from here:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx

Just type in the model number in the top left corner, select the correct board, then select your OS, then away you go.

Hope that helps.

Regards

Tim
