I have a portable DVD player by Coby and the area where you place the DVD in is damaged. It appears like something is wrong with the spring where you close the DVD in. Is there some place I can take it to be repaired. I bought it for my son several months ago from Frye Store here in Houston,Texas. I desperately need a repair center to look at it. I have the same problem. It worked fine for a while, then I could not even turn it on. I opened the case, and the fuse looks fine. I have no clue what the problem could be. When I turn the power on I head a click sound. However, there is no indication on the LED. The bay won't open/close and it does not respond at all. Almost like a corpse.

You may need to clean the laser in the unit. You can purchase a cleaning disk at Radio Shack or Best Buy. They are normally less than $20.

If it is disc made with a computer, you may need to convert the format to one that the DVD player is compatible with so it will recognize the disc contents.
