I self cleaned my Superba 2 times over the years I have had it and both times it would not work. Both times it blew the "Thermal Fuse/T.O.D." It is located at the top left side at the back of the oven. It shuts down the oven if the temperature goes to high ...and it did both times in my case. I had t buy it twice so now isu use Mr Clean "eraser" sponges to clean it

Pyrolitic mode heats up quite hot. Might have tripped the high temp cutout.

After using self cleaning feature...oven door locks up...4th time this has happened...kitchenaid says "no known issues with your unit or the problem you reported...can you halp

Hello - we have had this same issue a number of times as well. Do you lose all power on the unit too? We do - have discovered that using the self-cleaning isn't really a good idea with these ovens. The ovens aren't really made to heat to such high heats that are used in the cleaning cycle and during that last hour of cleaning it hits it highest peak - and it blows it's fuses. We recently blew 2 fuses at the same time, locking both doors (Double oven) and knocking out the power for the entire unit. Our repair man said that the average on wall ovens is anywhere between 6 - 12 cleanings before you will blow the same fuses and the whole cycle starts all over again. Our expense was $350. So, self-cleaning now means elbow grease around this house. How this information was a bit helpful for you.

We put this unit on self clean and now it wont turn on nor open.

I had the same problem with a Superba wall oven. In my case, the bracket mount for the door lock warped due to the heat of the self clean cycle. We were able to open the door by inserting a coat hanger into the slight opening at the top of the door and sliding the lock lever to the left. It was a pretty easy self-repair - 1) turn off breaker 2) slide oven out 2-3" 3) remove oven front trim pieces 4) remove screws that mount control panel 5) this should give you access to the door lock mechanism.
good luck

Kitchenaid superba oven stovetop oven door will not open after se

When the oven goes into clean mode the door is automatically locked as a safety feature. I would put it back into clean mode again, let it clean for a while and then hopefully when it cools down the door will open. good luck .

My KitchenAid Supra self cleaning convection wall oven stopped heating after I had used the self cleaning program. I ordered a new heat sensory unit $80.00 but after I installed it the oven is still not...

There is a overload thermostat on the rear of the oven that will have to be replaced.
Self cleaning features are not recommended by most appliance technicians.
Self cleaning causes parts to fail often.

Kitchenaid superba electric oven kebc107kss05

Did this with me twice now on self clean. It's the thermostat on the back of the oven. Set to trip when oven gets too hot which happens with self clean. Part is about $45 - $50 and pretty simple to install. Hardest part is pulling the oven out of the wall.
