The engine may be flooded severely. Take the spark plug out, shut the ignition off, turn the saw upside down, pull the throttle full on, and pull the starter a number of times until it quits expelling fuel. Check for a blue and snappy spark (gapped 0.020"). Make sure the fuel tank is filled with fresh fuel mix (50:1 ratio). Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Check the condition of all of the fuel lines for decay or other damage. The carburetor probably needs to be dis-assembled, cleaned inside and out, and check the condition of the lower diaphragm which should be flexible without holes or cracks. Hope this helps!

I have a bored out 281 xp, I just put a carb kit in it but I still cant get it to run properly, at idle or full throttle it sat in a shed for five years but i thought that would help, it didnt

Check if the fuel lines are still intact. More importantly, the introduction of ethanol into the gas supply has caused many issues with small engines, because of its corrosive nature. Sitting five years might have done this saw in with its effect (even if the tank is emptied) on internal parts.

181 se chainsaw. runs for 30 sec then dies. new fuel new carb kit, completely cleaned, new plug

Check the fuel line going into the tank for holes or tears. When you get it to run for the 30 sec. it is running off the prime from the bulb. Once it is running it should be sucking gas through the fuel line to keep it running. A hole or tear in the fuel line will cause it to **** air and die out.

Husqvarna 181 se chain saw not starting wet spark plug weak spark

I would replace the spark plug, make SURE you have the correct gap. Make sure you are using the correct oil gas mix, I believe it is 40:1.
If that does not help you may have a bad coil.
