Remote Thermostat How can I obtain a wiring diagram for a remote thermostat on my amana (PTAC) Unit

What color wires do you have and what terminal markings do you have on your thermostat?

Some thermostats have a five minuter time delay to protect the A/C when power fails. Some units also have a time delay, if so both must be satisfied before it will start.

I have seen this happen many times and if you cannot relocate the bulb of the thermostat to keep it form short cycling, I have mounted a wall thermostat and disconnected the thermostat in the PTAC and wired it in to the wall stat. You may have to install a wall stat in the center of the room away from the bar.

check heater coil may be faulty may be a faulty thermostat or temp sensor

check the wiring diagrams on the panels...

Could be the main control board.

Could be that somebody has been messing with the dipswitches beneath the control board.
