Failed Web Camera Installtion

Chicony USB 2.0 built in Web Camera for Windows Vista on a Toshiba Satellite P205-S6307: Windows Vista Reports;
Results for: Event Source: 19; File name: the driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. the INF file was written for Windows 95 or later.; Message: an error occurred during insatllion of this device;the Registry is corrupted. I have a Toshiba Satellite P205-S6307 and recently downgraded to windows xp and my camera assistant software is saying there is an error and it seem to be corrupted so please help me

you need to check and make sure it's on the HCL list .....this stands for hardware compatibility list ....or the laptop should have a sticker saying it's vista ready . let me know

Web cam problem

ya vista have some problems go to your internet option and download manually the latest update of your webcam .this may be a problem because u are using latest version of yahoo but your web cam do not support it or either add xp also in ur laptop.

Chicony USB 2.0 Camera: NEED HELP!!!!!

Follow these steps to re-install the driver for the webcam. You will need to be logged in as an Administrator or have an Administrator password ready.1. Click the Windows Start button.
2. Click Control Panel, System and Maintenance and then Device Manager.
3. Right-click on Chicony USB 2.0 Camera and select Update Driver Software. A yellow exclamation point indicates that the camera is recognized by Windows but is not working properly, probably because of problem with the device driver
4. Select Browse my computer for the driver software.
5. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. Select USB Video Device from the list, and click Next.
7. If the message “Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device” appears, click Close.
8. Restart Windows.
The webcam should now work properly
