The filter that spins on my juicer is getting slowly clogged up despite being properly cleaned each time. About a quarter of the tiny holes are blocked. The brush that came with the machine doesn't help. I've tried boiling it in a water and dishwasher detergent solution (with bleach), blowing it with compressed air...nothing seems to work. HELP!!

IF there is NO plastic on it, you can use heat from something like a heat gun or oven to bake it off. You might also try something like CLR or muratic acid BUT they are not that expensive to replace.

SOURCE: Can't get filter out?

I purchased one of these at the flea market and the "cresent wrench" wasn't with mine. You simply need a way to hold the blade stationary as you twist the filter counter clockwise. I solved the problem with a stiff piece of clothes hanger wire bent in a U shape so it each end would go in one of the holes simply to keep that part stationary while you turned the filter.

SOURCE: I need to clean my Jack Le Lanne CL003AP juicer

mcdevit75 here, There should be a rather thin Shiny silver bar that goes across the entire cover wher you put the fruit, vegatables in for juiceing, move that bar out of the way, either pull towards you or away while holding down the cover this is will allow the cover to lift off and expaose the filter for cleaning.

Testimonial: "Thank you that was helpful. I've now managed to take the filter out."

The pulp is quite wet after juicing 2 cups juice. Can you pinpoint the reason?

Let it spin for a 2 or three minutes after juicing. You
can also, slowly, pour a little water down the chute to
leach out more juice and dilute it as well. Also hold
the basket up to the light to see if some of the holes
have become clogged and use a tooth brush to clear
them. If you're using the filters, just rely on the basket
alone, it's not that hard to clean.

Shuts itself off when juicing

FIRST DUMP THE FILTERS, THEY DECREASE YIELD AND MAY CAUSE MORE VIBRATION.
IF JUICER SHUTS DOWN PUSH RESET BUTTON ON BOTTOM. THIS TYPE OF JUICER DOES
NOT EJECT PULP AND REQUIRES SOME TIME TO MASTER. FEED THE STUFF SLOW AND
STEADY. WANT A GOOD JUICE? TRY 1 APPLE, 2 CARROTS, 2 CELERY AND A HALF LEMON.
IF YOU ARE REALLY BRAVE YOU CAN FINISH OFF BY SLOWLY POURING 6 OR 8 OUNCERS
OF WATER RIGHT DOWN THE CHUTE. THIS NOT ONLY DILUTES BUT LEECHES MORE JUICE
OUT OF THE PULP. JUICE SHOULD BE DILUTED AND DRANK SLOWLY.

Pulp galore!

are you exceeding the capacity of the juicer? you will get about 2 and 1/2 large glasses of juice before the pulp fills the spinning basket. Apple peels are very tough, apples and tomatoes need to be peeled before juicing. Use the filters, the juice comes out much clearer and the juicer is easier to clean up. I so a lot of carrots, carrots are super food.

Jack Lalanne Power Juicer

I bought the juicer at a second-hand store in brand new condition however the crescent tool was missing. To remove the flat blade for cleaning, I use a pair of scissors spread far enough to fit the ends in both holes. Hold the basket still while turning the scissors counter-clockwise untill the flat blade detaches. Easy as that! I ordered the tool, but it hasn't arrived yet. Hope this helps!

Cant grt it apart to clean

Take off the top part of the juicer that has the chute. You will see the blade and basket. The blade appears to be attached to the basket with three small screws but is actually screwed onto the basket by a large screw that protrudes out of the basket underneath the blade. So the trick is to unscrew the blade, turning it to the left by using maybe a small screwdriver that you will have to put into one of the two small holes that are on the blade surface and pushing the blade to the left. This should loosen the blade and then you can just unscrew the blade off the basket. Once you get that blade off, the rest of the juicer comes apart. The newer models come with a little tool with a couple of arms that go down into those holes and loosen the top. Good luck.

How to dissassemble Jack Lalanne Power Juicer?

After about a half hour I finally figured it out. I'll go through all the steps.

1. Remove pusher from chute.
2. Pull the locking bar down over the spout.
3. Remove lid.
4. This part is tricky. Stick the orange crescent tool into the blade holes and while holding the filter basket steady with one hand, turn the blade couterclockwise while pulling up.You do have put a little muscle into it. And remember, if you don't hold the filter steady, the whole damn thing just spins.
5. Remove the receptacle.

Good juicer, but it seems unnecessarily complicated.
