I assume you mean a key coded lock on the phone. If so, you're going to need to reset all the data on your phone. You're going to need a computer and a sync cable for your phone. On your computer, install iTunes, regardless of OS. Then:

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
* If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert.
6. Use iTunes to restore the device.

Try holding down the sleep/wake button at the top right-hand corner of the iPhone for a few seconds.
This will bring up a screen asking you to run the slider across the screen to turn the phone off.

Go to your security settings and put in a password, this will give you an option to lock your phone.

your screeen has either been sat on or something and the touch screen cant sense any other thing except the pressure on in. try smackin it gently NOT bangin try that and see if it works

I have an iphone myself and am compulsive about following iphone news since I'm a huge security nerd. I lock my phone. Always. But have you seen the option to make an emergency call? That in itself is a huge security flaw, or in your case, a saving grace.

So here is the deal:

• You can NOT bypass the security code entirely
• you MUST reset your phone (scroll to the bottom for directions)
• BUT you can access all your texts/phone numbers/etc, first with the exploit I am about to show you.
  

Here are some directions, but keep in mind, this only responds to firmware versions PRIOR TO 2.1.3 (the latest one). The original firmware that came with your phone and any downloads up until the one they released a few weeks ago still have this vulnerability.

TO GET TO YOUR CONTACTS AND TXTS:

1. Turn off/on your iPhone and move the slider to get to the "Enter Passcode" screen
2. Tap "Emergency Call" button on the bottom left
3. Double-tap the home button
4. This will pull up all contacts in your Favorite list
5. Tap on the blue arrow next to the contact's name to full access to email, SMS, Safari, etc.

Jot down those numbers you want to save before you have to do the reset.

HOW TO RESET YOUR IPHONE:

1. Turn off iPhone - Hold down the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the red slider. Ignore this step if your iPhone is already off.
2. Press and hold down the Home button for about 10 seconds until a yellow triangle with a text which says Please Connect to iTunes appears.
3. Plug the iPhone into Mac or Windows PC. Release the button if you haven’t.
4. Run and open iTunes if it’s not already opened yet.
5. iTunes will prompt a message that says iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Click OK.
6. You will be taken to the iPhone pane. Then, click on Restore.
7. Wait for the full restoration process to complete, and the iPhone will be back to the original settings state as when it left the manufacturing factory, typically a working phone again if you face any problem, unless it’s hardware related.

just switches screen of to save power and avoid accidental icon selection on pressing the 'home' button at bottom of iphone you are presented with a slider on screen to turn back on.. can be pascode protected and set to auto lock after a certain time. I dont use it in stead I use manual lock (button on top right of iphone
