If it is open you need to determine why it opened. Is the exhaust pipe clogged or does it have to many elbows or is it too long.
4 elbows is about equal to a clogged pipe.

Make sure you are not using a timed drying setting. Use one of the pre programmed functions on the dial. These settings are meant to use a sensor and stop when the clothes are dry. If the problem continues on one of these settings, there is likely a problem with the sensor or your heating element

Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating
the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows
sometimes it is still not working properly.

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different
things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
remove the vent from the back of the machine, run it full of clothes from the washing machine and if it dries nicely, then you have a clogged vent that needs replacing.
The dryer requires cycling of the heat to advance thhe timer on auto dry cycle. see ,link provided parts and repair guidance. Always remove from power supply first.
I have a Magic Chef Clothes dryer. Model #YE224LV. Was drying clothes, went back to ckeck and dryer wasn't running. Push botton and nothing. Check circuit breaker everything ok. What do I need to check and how. Just won't start. Thank you!!!
