Mitsubishi turns on for 3 seconds then shuts off..after power surge

U check the power supply board,check all cap,and replaced it?Ur tv make buzzing noise when u turn on power?Ur flyback is dead.

That blinking light represents an error code,give Mitsubishi a call they will help you troubleshoot and diagnose your problem and if needed help you set up service. 1-800-332-2119 Good luck !

go into the customer menu and select convergence with the original remote; if either the red or blue will not move in some direction, you have a bad convergence IC(the WS-55411 uses two STK-392-110 CONVERGENCE IC chips)

It is possible that the Low Voltage power module is defective, however I would first check the High Voltage power supply for bad capacitors (they tend to go bad first). In fact check both boards for bad capacitors (they will look puffy in appearance if they are really defective).

this unit has a self test check you can do

when the set shuts down or when the set is turend off.
press and hold , onthe front of the set the input or device button, and hold the menue button for bbout 5 seconds.
the set will flash a 2 digit blink code at you.
12 blik = no problem
21 blink = xray protect
22 blink = short protect
23 blink = loss of deflection.

ok 6 hours is not long but i would deffintly say u have a power issue now with the box inside over heated and burnt out will have to be prfessionaly replaced

It s a Power supply problem.If you are not familiar with electronic repairs take it to an authorized repair shop.

Your power transformer is likely shot. It'll cost at least $200 to have it replaced. Someone can come to your house to diagnose it. Usually costs around $65.

Error code 12 means normal operation. On these models we have found that a switch is bad on the control panel not allowing the set to turn on. Disconnect the control panel. You will be able to use the remote on set. To find the plugs for the control panel: Remove the speaker grill and front panel, then follow the wire to the connection. You can use an ohm meter to find the bad switch.

I just took my Mitsubishi WS-65315 65" in to be repaired for the same problem and was told that it needed a new main circuit board part number 930b899005 as was told they wanted to charge me $1100.00. So I told them not to do the repair and picked up my tv and found that same part at Sears parts for only $225.00. Some of these TV repair places are theifs.
