mostly, this is caused by a default of the lcd screen inside, if so, you must replace it, if your model is using 3 lcd screen, open the cover, disconnnect one of them , run the projector, if you don't see lines, power off, reconnect it and disconnect the second, till you see the lines, so you can localise the default one. you also can try to check the lcd screen connector, disconnect, clean, reconnect
Have a nice day!

Unplu the unit Locate the user service screw, the lamp door should be underneath the projector. open the lamp door the lamp is removed by undoing 2 or 3 screws and pulling out with the handle. a genuine replacement lamp with cage will mean you won't have to worry about wiring the lamp. put new one in push connectors in firmly do up the 2 or 3 lamp screws close the lamp door and screw up reset procedure usually plug in power while holding down up, left and power and the lamp will be reset.
I've searched all over...heh, I've got TONS of Sharp service manuals but *not* yours...I did find, however, the xg-e650 manuals on manualsparadise.com. Sharp units, a lot of times, are very similar in architecture, functions, parts, etc. For example, practically any Sharp remote will work on your projector...BTW, the lamp you need is a BQC-XGE850U/1 and sells for $292-389 dollars.http://reviews.cnet.com/peripheral-accessories/sharp-projector-lamp/4505-8309_7-31382143.html?tag=mncol;lst
I habe one of those The probelem is you must use the exact same lamp model otherwise it wont run because of auto overload prevention chek if you have the right sort of lamp, fire the idiot what broke it, find the manual- any codes/ instructions you need will be in it
are there any leds lit? if not, it may be the bimetal circuit breaker. if the unit overheats, the breaker trips to cut the heat source, and needs to be reset manually. unfortunately, the top needs to be removed. it's located on top of the lamp housing (red button). if it's not tripped and still no power, you need to replace the power supply.
there is a burned-in spot on the polerizer light filter for the blue lcd. it makes sure the light is blue coming through, that's why it is black on a blue screen, and yellow when the red and green are the only light showing through. it needs to be replaced. pat # PFiLW0213CEZZ.
either the lamp hours are close to or exceeding 1400 hrs and the lamp needs replacing, or the ballast is starting to fail. with the projector on, check the lamphours in the menu. after you replace the lamp (if it needs it), reset the lamp timer by holding down the down arrow, right arrow, and enter buttons, then press power.
Your lamp is not lighting up most likely. Try removing the lamp assembly and clean the contacts. If that does not work then you will probably need to replace the lamp. Also try resetting the timers. Refer to you owner's manual for info on how.
