Sorry it is like your monitor needs service. Electrolytic condensators in power supply need to be changed. Give it to an electronic shop, it is a job for a specialist.

I have a samsung syncmaster 943NW which goes on for about 5 seconds and then just goes black. When restarting the screen it does the same again, goes on for about 5 seconds and then black. Is there...

I had the same problem with this monitor (Samsung 943nw)
When turned on it would only stay on for less then a full second.
When shining a light on the screen I could see what was on it, so it was just the backlight that was shutting down.

After I turned down the brightness of the monitor, the next time I powered on the screen the backlight stayed lit and it was back to normal.

Flashing screen when i first turn on my SamsungSyncMaster 2232 bw

I had a similar problem with my LCD computer screen. I took it apart and noticed a capacitor that was raised up on the flat end and appeared to be leaking a substance. Replaced it with a similar capacitor and works fine, for three years now.

Monitor goes blank after 3 seconds -Samsung SyncMaster 920NW

Could be a power issue. If it doesn't show anything at all then that may be the case. It may also be the display itself. It would be a costly repair so you might be better off finding a new monitor.

Syncmaster 226bw goes black

If you can still faintly see data on your screen, it will be a faulty backlight in the panel most likely.

LCD panels have fluorescent tubes in them that provide the light needed to see the data. If one of these goes faulty, the circuit that drives it will turn off ALL the backlights, giving you a black screen.
Note: a faulty circuit that drives the backlights will often give the same apparent fault.
You will need to take the monitor in for repair.

Samsung SyncMaster 192N loses picture; requires re-boot

Unfortunately, you two have two unrelated problems. CB, the monitor isn't asking you for the password, that's the computer itself going into hibernation, which shuts down the video output, hard drive, etc. You need to go into the power-save settings and either disable hibernate, or change the settings to your liking.

The other question about the screen staying on for 5 seconds... thats an inverter board problem.
