Screen is unreadable

try uninstalling the graphics driver and reinstall, also boot up in safe mode and see if you can see screen ok, if you can its your graphics card as in safe mode no agp drivers are engaged

Press CTRL+ALT and any one of the Arrow keys to turn your monitor screen to proper position..see the pic to find out arrow keys

You might have an unread message or you have an unread message on your sim from prevouis cell phone. Go to messaging, options, sim messages. Look for unread message

this is 9/10 the actual screen itself going faulty, Please try the unit on an external monitor, if you can, and see if that too has the problem, if NOT that means your Video Card is most likely OK, and it is the LCD, and.or the LCD drive and Inverter boards, that are faulty. it is not too expensive a repair, beats buying a new laptop. get a "Quote" before starting any repair..

You can get rid of the unread message notification on the Welcome screen by making the following changes in the Windows registry. Please backup the registry before making any changes.

To disable the notification for current logged on user:

Click Start > Run and type "regedit" and hit Enter or press ok
find the following key in the registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail
On the right pane, find a value data named MessageExpiryDays. If it’s not found, create a new DWORD key named MessageExpiryDays. Set the value of “MessegaExpiryDays” to 0, and save the setting.

To disable notification for all users on the computer :
Find the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail

and follow the same procedure.

Save settings and Exit registry. You will not get the notification on welcome screen.

Sounds like a bad lcd flex cable, i fixed mine by ordering the part from an international parts carrier, but if you are not technically inclined to open up your phone and possibly destroy it, i would not recommend it.

There may be an unread email somewhere in your inbox. If you click the menu button when in the mail section there is a "mark all unread messages read (or something similar)." This should clear up your unread message count on your "Today" screen.

If you see a dim image or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.
Connect an external monitor to the laptop and power it up, if you see a clear image on an external monitor, this means your video card is OK.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
