OK, MY GRANDSON INSTALLED THIS "ROXIO5 ON MY COMPUTER AND IT DOESN'T WORK AND IS A PEST TO MY E-MAIL AND OTHER PROGRAMS , WHAT IS UP?BB THE ICON APPEARS AND SAYS " A DISC AND/OR OTHER MEDIA ??? I THINK A DISC MUST BE INSTALLED , I DO NOT KNOW WHY IT WILL NOT LET ME DELEAT IT.???

Help remove bigbucksrveys.com

while this is a scam site, the protocols they use are not deemed to be a virus , malware or the like so all of the internet security will not detect it
go to control panel, programs and features abs see if it is a program installed ie bigbucksurveys or a program by the originators and if so high light it and unistall
if it comes in as an e-mail install a program like spamhilator which has the ability to learn mail that you delete and so sends it directly to the trash can without it being seen
another possible way is to get a restore point before it was added and restore to that point so anything after will not be on the system
and of course , impress on you grandson that there is no such thing as free

Incredimail will not open

Try running as administrator (right click icon, select "run as administrator), if it doesn't work, re-install. Still not working? You probably have another program that has installed incompatible libraries on your computer. Check Google what programs cause these problems...

AVAST! APPLICATION FAILURE

First right click on the Avast! icon, bottom right of the screen near the clock > open avast! user interface > fix > OK > restart computer > float mouse arrow/cursor (no clicking) > avast! Antivirus: your system is secured

If this has not resolved the problem:

Start Control Panel > Add or remove programs > highlight avast! antivirus free home edition > remove all components of the program, including all quarantined files > Apply > OK > restart computer.

Launch internet browser > www.avast.com > support > Free Antivirus > Download product > select "save" download option (to save the avast! setup files on your desktop in case you have a future need for them) > download latest version of Avast! antivirus Free Home Edition > double click Avast! icon on the computer's desktop > install the program, carefully selected and deselecting your preferred options > restart computer > > float mouse arrow/cursor (no clicking) > avast! Antivirus: your system is secured.

Launch internet browser > www.avast.com > support > Free antivirus > register to get licence > complete the personal information inform, selecting "home" use > submit > navigate to your e-mail account > open e-mail inbox > open avast e-mail > highlight, right click and copy the code in the avast e-mail > right click on orange avast icon bottom right > registration information > right click and paste the code into the "insert registration code" box > OK > restart computer.

Everything should be fine after this.

My BB has a Yellow e-mail symbol, normally its white?

Do you have Hotmail on your BB?
It's the new style mail folder icon for email-specific folders.
You should see your hotmail in it.

If you go to your pictures, you will see a new picture has been downloaded, which has the yellow envelope... this is very disturbing.

removed MSN account from my BB, and then re-created it. The ICON will go back to normal for now.

From a quick Google search, this happened to a lot of Blackberries recently.

Hi,

Check your computer first, Praveen. Scan your computer for any 'bug' or 'bugs.'
Once it is clean of pests, install a firewall and an anti-virus program if you do not have one yet.
I strongly recommend a program for malware and adware also. Clean out any unnecessary data from your computer, delete Internet temporary files, history, cookies, saved passwords, and web information, plus any duplicate files. Store any added data on a USB drive, Zip drive, CD, or DVD. After that, do the maintenance on your computer: 1- Disk clean, 2- Check disk, 3- Disk defragmenter. If you have a registry cleaner, use it. This should help to give you some space back and get your computer in better shape and working faster. Do it regularly to help to keep it that way.
(Once a month should work, unless you use your computer a lot, than once a week)
Once done, go back into Yahoo and see if that has helped. If you continue to have trouble, contact service representative and explain the problem to them.

How to check email

Your MailCall saves and replaces, but does not delete,
the AOL mail delivery sound file,"you got mail", allowing
you to choose the sound you desire by clicking the "Apply" button.
You will hear that very sound you choose then next time you get mail
from your AOL program.
Your MailCall remembers the last sound you applied and uses that sound
until you decide to change, using the apply button.
The best part is that you can create your own sounds, drag and drop
them into the box from your desktop and then apply them in Your MailCall.
You can sample all the sounds on the fly just by selecting the file you
see in the main window. You can listen and apply any file you have from
any other source manually, provided it is a .wav file, can be inserted
in the "c:\program files/YourHost.com/MailCall/volume1" directory and
will show up in the Your MailCall program window.


Start at your computer's window's desktop. This is the open area with
all your icons on it. You will know that you are in the right place
if you see your "Recycle Bin" or "My Computer" icons.
At the lower left-hand side of your desktop

Press the "Start" button
Select "Settings"
Select the "Control Panel"
Select the "Sounds" Icon
Make sure that the Icon is not grayed out or dulled out, compared
to the other Icons in the Control Panel. If the Sound Icon is grayed out,
STOP right here! The Your MailCall software will not work.
It is not the Your MailCall program at fault! You to have your
sound card configuration.
See you're the Computer manufacturer.

Back to the Control Panel, Sounds Icon,
If you can open the sound box and get to the "Sound Properties" window,
select a sound in the
"Events" window. The Sound preview box should have an Icon in it and
you can press the arrow or play button to the right of the "Preview" window. If your sound is installed properly, you will see a quick movement of the buttons from left to right. If you press the play button and you do not hear a sound and it looks like it is actuating, or switching quickly, your sound card is probably working ok and the problem is more than likely in the speakers. Check the speaker power, the wire from the computer to the speakers, and the connection between the two speakers.

Once you get sound from the "Sound Properties" window. Your Mail Program
will work just fine.

Applications won't go into blackberry

You haven't said which BB you are using or what you have tried already so I'll give you a general answer - if it doesn't help, please let me know and I will suggest something else.

From your computer, go to either your service provider's web site or to www.blackberry.com and find the most recent software for your BB model. Install the software onto your computer. Then connect your BB. Depending on your model, you may automatically be asked if you want to update your BB. If not, find the icon to update your software (you might be able to just sync the BB with your computer but that doesn't always work). Once you have updated your BB software, you should not have any problem adding new applications. Note that some applications can be downloaded directly to your BB; others have to be downloaded to the BB Desktop Manager on your computer and the uploaded to your BB. The application instructions should tell you which way to do it.
