Have an aussie ps3 trying 2 play dvd and it says region code incorrect how do i fix this

The PS3s' DVD and Blu-Ray player is region locked. This means that your Australian PS3 can only play DVD and Blu-Ray movies made for the region Australia is in or are region free (region code 0).

For DVD's, Australia is region code 4.
For Blu-Ray, Australia is region code B or region code 2.

Although this doesn't help your current problem, the PS3 is region free for PS3 games (you can play games from any region).

To work around this, I propose either ripping the DVD to your computer, then burning it onto a different DVD or streaming the DVD directly from your computer to the PS3. Streaming is definitely the better bet if you have more DVD's from another region.

To rip and burn your own copy, use a blank DVD disc and DVD burning/ripping software such as Nero.

To stream to your PS3, check out the following:
PS3 Media Server (my personal favorite) for PC
TVersity for PC
MediaLink for Mac

Enjoy your movie (hopefully)!

Can i play a region 2 dvd on my australian ps3??

Australia is considered Region 4, not Region 2 according to the DVD region code spec. Region 2 is Europe / Middle East and Greenland.

I bought 3 disney movies from the us can'play them on my dvd need a code area australian

Of course I cannot condone any solution contrary to any Australian, US, or international law.

Most DVD players offer the option to change the region code...
Please be aware that due to DVD piracy problems, every DVD player manufactured, regardless of who makes it or where it is made, allows a maximum (if at all) of THREE region code changes.
In your circumstance, this would mean that you can change your DVD player region code to region 1 (US), watch your videos, and then change it back to the AU region code...You would then be allowed one more change. If you attempt to change the region code after that, your DVD player would lock out and be turned into a paperweight.

As a "Yank" who has been to Australia (Perth NSW- twice!) I sympathize with your problem- wanting to have these videos forever and not being able to watch them at all....

The only "safe" option that I can offer is to surf the web for a program called DVD-Shrink, or something similar that will allow you to remove the region code from your DVD's, and set it to "region zero"...which will play the DVD anyplace, anytime. DVD-Shrink works as a copy program from a PC DVDR drive and can remove most region codes from a DVD depending on the disc- most is explained in the FAQ.

Please do not allow yourself to be duped into trying an "all regions" download for your DVD PLAYER. Every single one that I have received a reply about, after warning off the "customer" has resulted in a "my player does not work anymore" response!

Need to unlock the region code so that I can play Australian DVD's on UK machine

Go to videohelp.com and search on the model number - the sequence of remote control keys to press to change the region code is there. It worked well for me, so I could play US DVDs on my UK region machine.

Philips DCP750/37 shows "wrong region"

Australian players are designed only to play Region 4 discs. United States discs are Region 1. It is illegal to change the Region code on a DVD player, so I can't tell you how to do it (ironically, it is the most frequently asked question about dvd players on Fixya.com - global world), but there are videos on YouTube that will show you how to do it - I would just enter "philips region code dvd" as your seacrh term. You won't find that exact model, but one of the codes in the video should work. Note that you will only be able to change the region code three times on a Philips - after that you will be locked out. So change it to Region 1 once, and never change it again.

Australian dvd doesnt play on my dvd player

America makes it hard for any of us to view CD's from other regions. I've had to pay out to have videos and DVD's converted. Other options are playing them on your computer dvd with software that will play different regions. Go to New Zealand or Australia and buy yourself a player that will play other regions. Other countries cater for international viewing.

Dvd region codes

Try this (for a LH-T360SE)

Open disk tray and press 0000, a two line menu appears with "Edit Region _" and "Region Code:x" put in required region (presumably 0) and press enter. Region Code:0 appears. power off and enjoy.

region code 0 is No region restrictions.
