My Kitchen Aid Superba Oven broil doesn't seem to be heating up properly.

Open the door and hold the broil button down for 10 second. This should change it.

To Change ?C to ?F: Press OPTIONS, then 1 on the keypad for Fahrenheit. To convert back to Celsius , press OPTIONS, then 1 again on the keypad.Nov. 23, 2017

bad temp sensor maybe?

check the igniter for oven and change
you may have a seperate igniter for the broiler

If you are hearing a clicking sound, that would be the igniter trying to light the gas, however you said elements not heating up which says it's electric... hmmm. If it's electric, try the broiler and see if the element comes on. It's pretty easy to troubleshoot by process of elimination. By all means do not try and repair it yourself unless you are qualified working with electrical.

Press and hold the Broil Max Econo button for 5 seconds.
Only this button and without turning on oven.

It may just be the thermostat going bad. The thermostat tells the oven temperature controller what the temperature is inside the oven. As they go bad they send back incorrect signals. They are relatively simple repairs.

there is an element in your oven that needs to heat up before it will light. it needs to be replaced. collect the serial number and model and if you go to sears they should be able to help you with the problem

Here is what Kitchen Aid says about F4:

F4 Meat probe shorted
1. Disconnect meat probe and measure probe resistance (78kω at 60° F [15.6° C],
37kω at 90° F [32.2° C]).
2. If resistance is not valid replace probe.
3. Insert probe and check for a firm connection between probe and jack (in oven cavity).
4. Check connection between jack and harness (in rear of oven).

It sounds like the probe jack may be bad or the wiring between the jack and the control board above.

Lisa, I do not have a solution, but have the same problem. My KA superba micro has been used about 10 times. While it was off, and while no one was home, the outer glass in the door shattered. I suspect this may be a defect.

THERE IS OVENSHUTDOWN THERMAL FUSE IN THE BACK THAT WILL SHUT DOWN THE ELEMENTS. I AM LOOKING FOR THE FUSE.
