If you are refering to securing your wireless router from unauthorised access then -
Network Key (WEP, WPA, WPA2 Encryption key)To connectyour computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh networklist, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connectto your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Keybefore allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This NetworkKey is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used toconfigure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way tosetup the Encryption key.

My T40 will not connect to my wireless network at home. I don't know what to do, please help.

Make sure the wireless card driver is installed and working.
Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Hi do you know how I can connect my lap top to the internet wireless with my linksys wireless router ? the lap top asks for an access code and I do not know what it is or how to find it do you know how to...

The access code or password is the encryption key in your wireless router, without this key the wireless router won't allow the laptop/computer to connect to this wireless router.
The WEP, WPA, WPA2 encryption key is in your router's wireless settings. Log into your router and got to the wireless settings, you will need to get the SSID and the encryption key. Then go to your computer/laptop's wireless card and configure it with the router's SSID and encryption key, so it will then connect to the wireless router and the Internet.

Setting secured wireless connection

You can enable WEP on your router.

In the address bar of your browser, type 192.168.0.1 to access the setup page of the Dlink router.

By default the username is admin and leave the password blank.

On the Setup page, go to Wireless.

Security Mode should be WEP then click Next.

You can change the WEP KEY 1. Make sure you remember this because you will need to enter this on your wireless computer.

Save the settings.

I hope this helps!

I have a 54Mbps Wireless Cable/DSL Router and unfortunately deleted something off my computer and have now got it back, but in order to get back wireless it is asking for a WEP encrypted code and I do not...

a wep encryption is a code you setup apon startup of the network in order to only permit those who you deem fit able to use your wireless internet connection if its asking for one I would make sure that your signing into the proper network as alot have generic names linksys 1-20 and what have you if you know your connecting to the proper network and do not know what the wep could be most modems will have a pin size button in the back of it in order to restore the router to its factory defaults thus allowing you to reset your setting

I did not know my network key for wireless lan, Satellite L300 se

The network key is an encryption key ie. WEP/WPA-PSK key.
This key is configured in the wireless setup of the wireless access point or wireless router.
The key can be a hexadecimal number but most people use a Passphrase.
The Passphrase can be a phrase such as "I'm am so smart 12345" and this is used to generate the hexadecimal encryption key.
For instructions on setting up and configuring the wireless security for your access point (this apply to wireless access points and wireless routers), please click in this link and follow my instructions :-

I have a Netgear wireless router DG834G and i am trying to connect a wireless Brother printer and it is asking me if it is No Authentication or Encryption, No Authentication with WEP Encryption,...

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open the browser(Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox).
2. Access the router usually http://192.168.0.1 else try http://www.routerlogin.com
3. Login to the router with the Username as admin and password as password (unless you have changed it).
4. Click on Wireless Settings'(under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if 'WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)' or 'WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)' is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase.
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless computer to the routers' wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new password and click apply. You will then have to use the same password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
