Always a good idea to have a "surge protector" between the wall outlet for electrical and the appliance plugged into it. A surge protector will prevent a surge that could damage your set. $10.
This is very possibly a power surge, can you tell me how many times the light blinks, you probably have a bad power board now if you had a power surge.
Try disconnecting all of your HDMI cables and plugging the power cord of the TV into another wall outlet. If this resolves the issue, you may have had a small power surge from either your wall outlet or one of your source devices. It is recommended to connect your TV to a surge protector if you haven't done so already.
Try turnning your tv off, unplug unit from outlet, press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds, let go of power button, if plugged into surge protector try wall outlet, if plugged into wall outlet try a different outlet, power tv on using power button on tv. Did you have a storm in you're area?
Some TV's have a timer for auto shut off, this menu item may have been set. Check that first!
Next, some TV's are negatively effected by slight imperfections in the power from the wall to the TV. I can't tell from your video but if you have too many things plugged into the same circuit, try disconnecting everything else and see if that reduces the incidents.
Next, some TV's don't like surge protectors... If your TV flickers a bit before it turns off try disconnecting all other items from the same outlet, remove the surge protector and plug the TV straight into the wall, nothing else... See if that helps.
If the last two items seem to help, try investing in a better surge protector.
Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and
remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.
swap to another surge protector. if it still does it, it is a power surge at the outlet, if it does not, the Surge Proctector has worn out.
have someone with the appropriate knowlege have a look at the outlet as well. older outlets especially tend to wear to the point where the plug literally falls out of the wall.
sounds like it could be a power issue. is the powercord on the back of the tv detachable? make sure its plugged in tightly. also if using a surge protector reset surge protector. if not using a surge protector try a different outlet. also if gfci outlet (has reset button on outlet itself) try resetting the outlet by pushing the reset button
These things draw a huge surge current when turned on. What size fuse are you blowing? These things can surge 10-12 amps on turn-on. What about a fuse with a reset button. They will take alittle more surge before they go. Don't matter about the insignia working before because the cheaper sets tend to stay powered up more when off....thus not surging on from a dead start. Could you try a different plug on a different circuit/fuse? and see if that makes a difference. If you have a 15 amp fuse, then your pretty close with other stuff plugged in. What size is your service? Do you still have an original 60 amp box with screw in fuses? Is it an old house?
