Hi,
Error code 2-2 indicates "Short Protect Circuit" problem in tv.
Need to check pico fuses in power supply as one or two got blown due to bad convergence chips.
Below is an exploded view of tv chassis, power supply and convergence area has been marked to give you better idea to look for pico fuses.
Unplug tv from wall socket before to repair/check any thing inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Pico fuses has circuit location number so find F9A04 and F9A05, these are +24V and -24V fuses.
Above picture is complete as I tried to show tv chassis. Below is bit detailed exploded view and area marked to locate above fuses, in fact you will see few more fuese like F9A02, F9A03 etc there so check them all with multimeter.
    Thanks.

Pico fuse is soldered in circuit board and soldering work is required to replace them.

It is not safe for you to involve yourself in tv repair if you have no knowledge, experience or necessary tools like multimeter, soldering iron etc
I would recommend to have friend's help who has done that sort of work before. I gave you info about problem and its solution and it is not possible for me to send you minor details.
    Thanks.

Screen shuts off shortly after turning on

Do the self check this model has, when green power light comes on and then goes out on the front of the set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds, then release both buttons and watch the power light, It will blink a two digit code, a error code.

Most common is 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and then it will repeat the code several times.

Let me know what code you find and I will tell you what it means.

This is a self check meant to narrow down what kind of problem the set has.

Does the Mitsubishi WT-46807 need a converter box to receive a HD signal?

Yes, this model only has one HD input--it is the one marked on the back of the set as DTV---you need to hook a box for HD to that input.

Burnout ? wt-46807

There could be a Pip problem or the vertical sweep could have went out also so then the set shuts down the video so it does not burn a line across the tubes. Theres really no way to tell what is wrong or it would just be a guess, a shot in the dark. Call out an authorized repair depot and get an estimate. Good Luck
