perfectly normal. as the iphone is a super-powerful smartphone. also it depends on wich application you are using. 3d games, 3g wireless internet and the PUSH notifications, generally contribute to drain the battery's life. to enlarge you battery's duration i would recommend to disable the push notifications, or at least give them a longer refresh delay. also, it would help if you install a battery monitiring application and lock the phone immediatly after use. the drawback is that you wil hae to manually check you e-mails and other things that depends on the push notifications.

I think you have a faulty battery so if you can replace it. If the problem still persists then the most likely cause is a faulty capacitor on the power supply board of the gps. If you can find a competant technician to fix it. Hope this helps.
