Model no GLER642AS3, how do I change the heating element

there are two clips about one inch in from the sides of the dryer.push these tabs in to unlock to lid.there is a small access panel on the bottom left side of the dryer.this willa llow you to take the belt loose.once the lid has been raised there are two screws on the inside front of the dryer that allow you to pull the front panel off.then you need to lift the back of the drum about an inch to remove it from the bearing holder then remove the drum.there will be four screws that you can get from the back of the dryer to remove the heating element.I hope this is helpful.let me know how things work for you if you eed any furthe help call me at 417-551-3436

Frig. model# gler642as3.. No power. No light.

Go to http://www.partselect.com/ModelFrames.aspx?ModelID=1107121&ModelNum=GLER642AS3&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=4&Selected=ZGBPCQG3&Position=4&mfg=Frigidaire&Type=&Mark=0 the parts you need to check are F15, F33 and F36. F15 is the element. F33 is the High limit thermostat and the F36 is thermal limiter. The most common problem with these dryers when they are not heating is a bad thermal limiter (F36) F33 would be my second guess and the element would be my next. Either one of these could be causing it not to heat. Good luck

I have a gas Frigidaire Gallery dryer. There is an error code "LOC". I can't get it to work now.

This indicates there is an error with the door lock mechanism. It will most likely need to be replaced. This will prevent the dryer from working and is a safety feature to prevent injury while the dryer is in operation. It is fairly quick and cheap to repair.

Frigidaire GLer642As3

A grounded element on an electric dryer is an element that has broken and the element heating wire has touched something metal, like the cage that is suppose to hold the element or the element metal housing around the element. What this does is, the element only heats on the section that is touching the metal part and usually this part of the element is only heating at about 1/2 heat output. An grounded element can also stay on even when the dryer is not in use!!
