My Keurig has stopped working. When I turn on the power the light comes on to indicate that it is heating, however that is as for as it gets. There is no sound to indicate that it is heating the water and the heating light never goes off. Could the heating element have stopped working? How can this be fixed?

SOURCE: Keurig coffee maker?

The unit was "DEFECTED" by the company (understanding there was a fault with the original product). My partner is a Graduate of De Vry Tech's 4 Year Baccalaureate Program. He has thrown up his hands over ever successfully repairing this unit. It has something to do with ENERGIZING the hotplate and/or brew cycle.

It'll make a pretty night light on your kitchen counter.

SOURCE: Gevalia CM-500 12 cup problem.

Underneath the hot pad that the carafe sits on, there are two thermal fuses that are inside tubes that are clamped to the heating element with spring clamps.

Remove the bottom of the unit (5 screws), unclamp the thermal fuse tubes, slide the tubes to one side and check the each fuse with an ohmmeter. If one of them is open, that's your problem.

Sorry to read about your issue.

Try this first....

you can contact Keurig at 1-866-901-2739 or Keurig.com
You do have a 1 year warranty, and if you are out of warranty. They will give a discount on a new unit.

The brewer should be de-scaled at least every 3-6 months. Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder optimal brewer performance. De-scaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, removable water reservoir and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. Better water quality and water heating means a better cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa or iced beverage. We recommend de-scaling your brewer at least every 6 months (every 3 months if your water has a high mineral content). The de-scaling process involves using 48 ounces of undiluted white vinegar.

Take 48 oz of white vinegar. place in tank. pretend you are making coffee (Do No Use K Cup). let the water fill you mug. then empty that mug. Do it again until tank is empty. then let sit for 4 hours.
Then fill with fresh water to the top. let that tank of water run thru. towards the end taste the water.
If you taste vinegar..use more clean water, until the taste is ok.

Move to anther receptacle that you know is working. Did machine come on? If not you will have to replace it or look in the instructions that came with maker to see if you wish to send in for repair.

Why is the heated water not going through?

Is this a new or used Keurig? If new, get a replacement. If it is an older model, check the discharge hole where it empties into the K-cup for clogs.

You could be correct in your assessment and if so, as long as the device is under warranty it needs to go back for servicing. If you open the chambers, the warranty is Void and the device a boat anchor.
