There are two ways:
1) If your device is not frozen, navigate to Select Start > Settings
> System > Clear Storage and type in 1234 in the text box. This
will erase everything you installed and restore the phone to your last
ROM flash.
2) If your device is non-functional, press the two soft keys under the
touchscreen (the topmost buttons under the touchscreen) while
simultaneously pressing the soft reset button by inserting the stylus
into the reset port at the bottom of the phone. This performs the same
function as option 1.
I have a small solution to what all of you are having with the black screen. I had the same problem so, what you want to do is keep pressing the power button. You do not turn the phone off, you will just put it in standby mode and then back on. If you keep doing that the screen will turn back on but you can not let the back light go out.
I believe I've figured out what caused my white screen problem. I finally broke down and purchased a nice holster for my 8525. It had a magnetic catch to keep it closed. Within a couple of days I experienced my first white screen. I thought that was pretty wierd, but thought it must just need to be re-booted. Later that night the same thing happened. Throughout the weekend it happened many more times. I got on the internet to see if anyone else was having the same problem...OMG. In site after site the same thing; my 8525 has developed a white screen. I came across one where the writer mentioned that he had just purchased a case with a magnetic closure. I took mine out of the case I'd just purchased, changed the battery, and turned it back on. I have not had a white screen since. I'm back to a velcro closure forever! Good luck.
the touch screen is not reacting but every thing else works
