Hello there:
Magic chef ovens and various other models of ovens have this no cancel feature this is due to the intense heatthat is generated during the cleaning process Normally if you press and hold the cancel button for 10 seconds this may cancel it out but the oven door will remain locked untill he temperature gets back to around 100 degrees see the cleaning temperature are almost around 600 degrees ok also you can unplug the oven and leave it set for at least 1 hour to allow the internal reset feature to reset the oven ok this has been known to take care of this problem too ok
Hope his is very helpful for you
Best regards mike

Lost my manual have frigidaire gallery stove need to know how to use self clean

This isn't what your looking for, but please read this. I've been a technician since 2001, and I wrote this based strictly from seeing it first hand,
The oven temperature is regulated by a temperature sensor when placed in self clean the sensor is removed from the circuit and full power is applied to both the bake and broil elements causing an the temperature to exceed in some some models up to 1,000 F. I would recommend against using self clean for the simple fact that no oven cavity to this date has been designed to withstand that high of a temperature and therefore excess heat is passed upward resulting in damaged lock mechanisms, control boards, and other electronic components. The most common complaint I have had with built in ovens besides the element burning out, is the oven door locked shut. When I get to the house and I ask to tell me a little bit of whats going on the story always starts " well, I was using the self clean option" or some variation of the sort.

I started the self cleaning process with the timer, however, there was a light fire in the oven due to grease. My husband turn the oven (self-cleaning process) off by turning the circuit breaker off. ...

if the door is unlocked then clean all the grease and let go, if the oven is still locked then get a tech down to your house to have it unlocked since its not safe to have it run again with greaase

Hello, I have an older model magic chef gas stove/oven. It has a self cleaning oven option that I tried using. It didn't work, but now the lock light on the stove is still lit up as if it's still in...

most likely your latch assembly on unit has failed.... try resetting breaker to unit and make sure latch is not half opened or half closed while breaker is off... after checking reset breaker and see if this helps if not then probley going to need a new latch assembly and or possibly the control on unit... self clean on all ranges and ovens are trouble in my opinion they get entirely to hot and usually are ran to long... i know you said yours didn't work leads me to believe there may have already been damage to one of the pcb relays on the control but try the above first and you may luck out.... good luck to you

I have an older magic chef I am trying to use the self cleaning feature. what am I supposed to have the two timer knobs set on? Or should I say the stop and start knob and the clock?

Start time should be set to current time of day (according to the clock on the stove) and the stop time should be set for at least two hours later. This will allow the timed oven feature to work for the self clean option.
***Keep in mind that if the clock does not work you will have to shut the oven off yourself after the two hours is up!!***
Good Luck!

SELF CLEANING MAGIC CHEF OVEN BOUGHT 24 YRS AGO

That's fairly typical but I would suggest removing the shelves and cleaning those with oven cleaner if they need it at all. Expect the door to remain locked for additional hours for safety.
The temperature rises to > 900 degrees F and is necessary to start the catalytic process that consumes the crud.
Sorry I didn't see your message earlier-
