My digital camera accidentally switched to German. How do I get it back to English?

Press the MENU button. Select SETUP (the horizontal slider switches). Select the eighth item on the menu.

From what I can tell if you hit the menu button, then using the side arrow buttons select "setup"(per German manual), and hit the down arrow 14 times(that's if the menu lines up with the manual). It should land you on language. The German word for language is Sprache, from there use the side arrows until you come across English.
Hopefully this will be of some help to you, the factory reset would be 15 down per manual. Which would be the last option in the list if it stops, and doesn't cycle from 15 to 1 hitting the down arrow.

You may have to use some "hit and miss" but if you try to follow the same number of steps in the setup menu, you will eventually find the word "english" and then you can click on it.

Press the MENU button, Press left/right to select the Setup tab. Language should be the ninth item on this menu.

Press the HOME button to bring up the menu. Touch the pliers-and-screwdriver icon to bring up the Setup menu. Use up/down to select the eighth item on the menu.

Press the MENU button. Use left/right to select the Setup tab. Use up/down to select the ninth item on this menu.

I took it back to the dealer and he was able to fix my problem.

Menu, Cam settings (Logo= wrench), language Settings (Logo=ABC)

And you no longer need a nite language course :)

Switch the camera on

Press the menu button

Press the right button (AF) until the last Icon is highlighted

Press the Down (WB) button once

Press the Set (Centre) button

Select English by pressing the Up (ISO) button once

Press Set

Press Menu button and you are good to go
