Does it make any sound at all ? If not,it can be an electrical or open circuit. Does it click, click , click, if so it series of clicks means a battery problem or grounding problem. If it only clicks once it is your starter.
SOURCE: '83 Monte Carlo - Miss fire at idle/accel./driving
An intermittent miss at idle that gets worse under load on a carbureted vehicled is almost always an ignition problem. The solution is simple and cheap. Put a new set of spark plugs and ignition wires on it, a distributor cap and rotor could be done as well if has been awhile since they've been done. This is just maintenance. If all of this has been done recently, replace the spark plugs again. They get dropped and cracked all the time in shipping or installation. This will likely solve your problem

Check fuel flter at fuel pick-up intank (looks like a small wire sock). Remove fuel filter and fitting at fuel rail. Blow out fuel lines w/about 35lbs air press. Ck electrical @ relay - should be 4 connectors - one is key on hot/one is always hot/one is ground and last is hot to fuel pump. Good Luck
