Water pressure makes the unit kick on and off by itself. If the pump is turning on by itself that means that somehow water is draining into the pump creating enough water pressure that it will make it kick on and off. Inspect the flapper on the check valve inside the discharge elbow, also check the flapper on the flush valve inside the toilet tank, the flapper may not be closing properly and is allowing water to enter the pump.

I have just bought and installed the newbury close couple tiolet but when i flush it there is water leaking from the bottom of the cistern, but it only happens when i flush it any hlp would be great.

You need the proper wax ring to seal the toilet to the flange. Remove the toilet and check the wax ring. If it isn't compressed, get a spacer and a thicker ring.

Toilet bowl will not drain when flushed

if your flapper is held open and the toilet rises to the rim and does not flush then you need a closet auger and clean out the toilet as it has debris restricting the flush

Masticator toilet blocked with hanging toilet freshener

It will dissolve however it will take many days you can't wait so you need to go rent or buy or borrow small rooter route to get it out. It's not a bad fix so don't let someone tell you different. You can fix your self. Good luck.

Toilet keeps running

Hello, The problem 99 percent of the time is, inside the holding tank of the toilet is a plunger, at the bottom, which is attached to the flush system. The plunger gets weak, or worn out. Don,t worry the is is a easy do it your self project. This is what you do for the fastest easiest and should run you under 30 bucks. You write down your toilet name, don't worry about model. This is the easy part, you turn off water. Valve that goes into wall down by base of toilet. Turn valve clockwise to turn off. Then carefully take off lid, set aside in safe spot to not drop or break. Now flush toilet, then grab your camera, phone camera if you have it and take some good pictures of inside of tank where all your controls are. Then take a trip to local plumbing supply, I recommend home depot, good price and great personal help. They sell the whole kit, it's cheap, and they also can make sure you have right one, and can show you how to do it, with the kit they have for it. Just show them the pictures of it off your phone or digital camera. Then you go home and it comes out Real easy, replace it with kit, and then turn water on, test it some, put lid back on and your back to flushing and saving water. Thank you, hope this helps and it is kind of a easy fun, do it your self project that should take about 20 minutes to change over. Thanks, mike from fixya.

I have a 1 yr old new Danze Orrington two piece toilet. DC013230-DC012223. I have 3 of the same actually but only one is giving me problems...the one on the first floor of the house. The flush is weak...

Your thought is probably correct. Usually toilet tank lids and feet on them to allow air enty. You might have to add rubber feet (self adhesive) or balance the lid on the tank differently.

Adjust the float on the Fluid-master a little higher if possible. This should allow more water to enter the bowl after the flush.

My toto toilet has both 1.6 gal and 6 gal flushes. the short flush doesn't go down.

I am not a toto expert but i think i understand the gravity control toilet concept.A gravity flush tank type toilet flushes do to the force of water traveling from the tank to the bowl in a small passageway and forces the water in the bowl towards the integral trap in the toilet. In other words the water isnt dumping quick enough or the passageway is restricted.,My guess is the flush valve isnt dumping all at once.

Toilet keeps flushing itself, its is a bemis toilet. its been doing it since i put sum of that bloo stuff you get although i took it out straightaway.

Replace the flapper. It seem to have been damaged. It that does not cure the problem by itself you may have to replace the flapper seat also.
