Hi kufreudokang,

The VGN-CS1xx, VGN-CS2xx, VGN-CS3xx computer models have a known issue that the cooling fan in the Computer may make continuous scraping, whirring, chriping and/or clicking noise while running. As a part of Sony's commitment to quality, Sony provides a free repair for an additional 36 months beyond the standard limited 12 month warranty (48 months total) for fan replacement.

As you're experiencing the issue, you can contact Sony Support at 1-888-476-6972 to set up a repair service at our Sony repair facility.
Hope this helps.

Please post back if you require further assistance.

This means that the micro ball-bearings are on their way out if the bearing race smashes then the fan will stop I suggest sourcing a brand new fan and fitting it yourself you might need a star drive look at the profile head of the screws.

Make sure that both the mains supply and battery are removed, the fan will be a simple push to clip connection with only 2 wires.

Severe noise problem onthe left side of the machine

That is the fan making noise if it is under warranty take to a sony service centre otherwise it is not a difficult job to replace you just need to take out all screws on bottom making sure you note where each goes as there are different types, then fan assy is held in by 6 screws and 1 connector.

My vaio VGN-FW390 fan make noise.

The fan makes noise in high preformance windows like windows vista&7. So it is normal, because the windows uses motherboard, ram and graphics card with high preformance so they get hotter, so the fan get stronger to cool them or they will be damaged.
This noise also exist in windows xp, but only when opening high graphics game, or being working with the laptop for along time.

Sony vaio fan is making a grinding noise, how can i fix this?

The sony VGN-S460 seems to have an inherent problem with their cpu fans. It is apparent that the fan uses a ball bearing system which over time becomes worn and causes the grinding sound.

The only solution is to replace the entire fan assembly as they are inseparable.
