I have had this a95 powershot since Jan 2005, today I find that after i take a picture, it is shrouded with white/pink parallel lines with the picture barely visible underneath. the video mode is working fine though.
Could you let me know what could be the issue?
As suggested I took it up with canon australia, I took the camera to one of their repair store, they were very cooperative and they repaired the camera in 4 days. This is what makes you stick with big brands, now i'm a big fan of Canon.
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

exact same problem is happening for me. It happened suddenly too; I literally went from taking a good picture, to all of my picture being shrouded in pink/white lines.

Tengo una A95 y a finales del 2006 las fotografías se vein desenfocadas, y me hablaron del problema de los sensores, tramite el Sticker de UPS y envie la camara por lo que en menos de 8 días me la devolvieron ya con el error corregido y sin cobrar un centavo.
En septiembre del 2008 al tomar fotografías no me presenta la fotografia en la pantalla LCD , me moleste y no le puse atencion por lo que ahora quisera enviarla nuevamente, creen que todavia esta vigente este anuncio.
