Your problem is all about your motherboard you need to updated to BIOS firmware to solve your problem.

Go to the gigabyte website then go to your motherboard page and download and updated to the latest firmware for your bios.

Steps in flashing BIOS

Go to ASUS website http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=A7V8X-X. Select BIOS category and check processor for bios version needed.

to update the bios on this motherboard go to asus web site

one on asus web site go to services ---> support -----> download
at the top left hand corner type in your motherboard model P5PE-VM, under that in select category selct Bios,

chhose your operating system from when the question pops up. (does not make any difference which windows version you choose. Bios in independent of your operating system.)

download the version of bios you want. the bios you download will have the utility with it but just in case it does not, download the bios utility as well.

format a floppy and make it bootable. copy the bios files to it. start the computer from the floppy and update your bios.

when you boot from the floppy at the command prompt you need to type in the utility name "Afudos" follows by the new bios name.

you can also do this using a bootable flash drive.

This errror coming from motherboard because your BIOS version is different as compare with new version, so download new BIOS for ASUS Intel 815E Chipset CUSL2-C from web site of ASUS there is detailed step of How to upgrade BIOS, you can upgrade BIOS by creating Bootble Disc otherwise you can Upgrade from OS.

you have few ways.one the clasic one.download a new version of bios,make a bootable floppy or cd and in dos mode rewrite the new bios.
-you can put it on  a syick and make it bootable
-if supported by your actual bios as an option flash it using this bios option
-you can also update it by using some software specific from your motherboard instalation cd.
everyway you choose be carefull.flasing or updating the bios is a very delicate operation and can severly damage your board.
so if you are not sure you can do it better talk to someone who did it several times before  and let him do it.
