Dryer works- washer doesn't

Hi,
The age of the pump is a big clue.
I'd suggest that you check the pump out to see if it's seized-up or become jammed by dirt & gunge.?
If you can strip it down, it might be just a matter of cleaning everything up & reassembling it again, or maybe just replacing a couple of bearings.?

If you already have a dryer receptical/plug then look at it closely and you can purchase a receptical/plug at a Home Depot type store or your local hardware store.

If the dryer didn't get banged around or damaged when you moved it, it sounds like it might be a power issue. Is the outlet where the dryer plugged into controlled by a switch? If so, make sure the switch is on. Is it on an electrical circuit with any other large devices (air conditioning unit, refrigerator, etc.)? If so, the dryer probably isn't getting enough power. Try plugging it in somewhere else, on a different circuit (using an extension cord to test it, if you don't want to move it until you're sure) to see if that makes a difference.

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

Hi,


Press and hold start button for 4-5 seconds.Make sure that the start button has been fully pushed down or turned far enough to activate the dryer.

After that plug something else into the same outlet. If it works, you know you have power to the dryer. If it doesn’t work, you’ll need to check for any blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers.


If the power is there, you need to check door switch, thermal fuse, thermostats, and start switch to see if one of these is faulty.
Make sure that the control settings are appropriate, and that any buttons are fully depressed.

You can hire an licenced electrician to wire a 240 plug for your ASKO washer

There is no 'converter'. The dryer takes 240 Volts AC and the washer is 120 volts AC

If you hook it up to 120 volts (by connecting L2[red] to common [white] the dryer will operate, but your heating element will only produce 25% of the heat it would on a 220v circuit. The drying time would be about 3 hours, and the auto dry setting may not work. Heat difference is about 5000 watts of heat on 220v, vs 1250 watts on 120v circuit.
