Hi there
Do you have a remote with this tv?
If you have try going into menu and picture and adjust from there. If you do not have your manual handy you can find it here. Free User Manuals and Owners Guides ManualsOnline com
Look in the. Troubleshooting section.

the image in the LCD monitor will darken in strong sunlight or bright light. This is normal occurrrence in device CCDs and does not contitute a malfunction. This image will not be recoded when shooting still photos, but it will be recorded wihen shooting movies.Read you owner manual and adjust the MENU, according with your o. manual.Otherwise you must go the repair shop God bless you
That's odd that the pictures would be coming out under exposed unless the previous owner has gone into the camera functions and switched the ISO from auto to manual. Another reason is that the exposure compensation has been activated and set for - exposure
Under "normal" use the camera will read the DX code on the film canisters and adjust the ISO automatically. However the previous owner may have shut this off in preference to setting the ISO manually. Even though you have ISO 400 in the camera the ISO on in the camera setting may be ISO 1600.
Checking for the Auto ISO and exposure compensation is fairly easy as you can see the film canister through the film window or you know you have loaded 400 speed film. on the LCD panel at the back of the camera is an ISO icon and exposure compensation.
Make sure the ISO for the camera is the same as what you have loaded and if the exposure compensation is to the right of 0 then the resulting picture will be dark. Move this back to the Zero.
I wasn't able to find an exact manual (if you don't have one) for your camera but have found a camera with similar. Here is a ling for that manual.
If it is dark because of an adjustment the "picture" adjustment would make a difference.
The most likely cause of a dark picture on this type of set would be the lamp getting near the end of it's life. This set should use part number, A-1606-034-B and is something you can probably change yourself, check your owners manual, it shows how. Follow the instructions and remember to have the power chord unplugged while you are changing lamp and to put the lamp door back on the set before you connect the power chord again.
If you are comfortable working inside the set, I can suggest the following:
1) Open up the back and locate the flyback transformer (part with large red wire coming out the top). There should be 2 adjustment posts on the back of it.
2) adjust the top one slightly clockwise as you are facing ht back of the TV. This should cause the overall picture to brighten. Don't turn it too much as you will then see the "retrace" lines.
3) Adjust the lower one to focus the picture.
That should help a bit. If not, then the picture tube is probably at the end of its life. Keep me posted with your results.

If the set is less then 2 years old it should still be under warranty. As I understand there is a 2 year warranty on this set. There is some adjustments to adjust on and inside this DLP TV set but they are not customer adjustments and should not be attempted without a service manual. They are on a service menu for the tech to access and adjust. My best suggestion would be to contact the manufacture from a contact number in the owners manual or from the store where you purchaced the set from or from a number I found for a main contact. Main support number 800-294-6400. Good Luck
