I have the a Philips Ambilight TV too. The power supply has two capacitors that may be going bad. Check the pic here...

In the Samsung power supply on the Philips TV, this part is known to fail and needs to be serviced or replaced. If you can do simple soldering work, you can replace these for less than $20 (for parts and shipping).

The television shuts itself off and the light blinks in the front to protect itself when something is wrong with it. It will come back on a few times when unplugging and replugging but by doing that and not getting repairs done it has gone into a coma and will most likely not turn on again until it has been serviced. You can try leaving it unplugged for several days to see if you can get it to come back on.

We have a Philips 4 BDS4231R/00 and it does not start. We can here the relay sound and if we turn it on and off say 7 - 10 times it works fine. Could anybody tell me how this can be fixed. Please

Hey John, I am experiencing a very similar problem. If I unplug the TV when it is on (green light) and plug it back in. It begins green, and clicks to red. I immediately turn the TV back on with the remote. Most of the time it seems to struggle for several seconds, sometimes with a little scratchy audio popping in and out. It will then go from green to red on the TV and if I try to turn it back on it will go green for a few seconds and back to red but without any click coming from the TV. No matter how many times I try after that, no TV. If, on the other hand, I unplug while green, plug it back in and with the remote turn it back on after it has come up green and then clicked to red, it will come on. It might take thee or five times but at least it comes on... If you hear of a real solution, please let me know ([email protected]) in the meantime, best of luck.

I have a Philips 50" Flat HDTV model 50PF9431D/37. Problem with screen turning on. I get sound. I get 9 quick flashes in red. Then after unplugging and plugging back in several times. It then blinks...

I have the exact same problem! I have it hooked up to a power strip now to unplug it by flicking of the power strip and waiting for the red light to go out then I turn it back on while Channeling up 10 X's and then down and up until it comes on. I listen to the sound of the switch which it comes on. I turn it off if it is faint and then back on and channel up. Crazy process but it's been working. It takes about 10 minutes everytime to get the TV on until I get a tech to come out and look at it. The capacitor keeps a charge which is why the light is flashing with a code for 60 seconds./JJ

Tv turns off doesn't come back on

it could be a power board problem but there are several causes for its shutdown. unless you have a background on electronic troubleshooting, you could try to fix it and find defective electronic component then replace them. if not you could just have it repaired by a reliable service area or person.

Tele will not stay on

I just started having this problem myself.
Try unplugging the TV for 5 minutes, plug it back in and turn it on. This worked for me and so far it's still working.
Someone said this is a "cold reset" and works for a number of problems.

Good Luck.
