Asus M2A-VM HDMI mobo installing - 2 x 2gb Mushkin silverline ddr2 After installation, 1 long followed by 2 short beeps, this loops until I power down. Things I've tried: Varying voltage (the memory is rated for 1.8 v, I've tried everything between 1.8-2.1 v) Varying installation patterns (dual channel, single channel) Could there be an incompatability issue? Jason

SOURCE: No sound device in Sounds and Audio Devices after Realtek Sound Driver install

Download the attachment I found, unpack it into your folder of choice.
Then move over to the control panel and select that "PCI Device". Rightclick and install the audio bus drivers I provided for the PCI Device. During installation Windows should find something like Microsoft UAA Bus driver, I don't know the exact name. Do a restart after installation and everything should work fine.

Hi auriaskate,
Currently you are using the onboard PCI video adapter. This graphics adapter uses you're system memory to function.
If there is a problem with you're system memory the beeps can lead one to think there is a problem with the onboard video.
You can not remove the onboard adapter so there may be a problem with you're system memory. (I doupt you're memory is bad) but on the other hand it might not be fully installed correctely. Power off the PC & unplug the power cord from the PC.
Please remove you're system memory & firmly reseat it.
Plug the power cord back in. Start the PC & listen for any beeps except the 1 normal beep known as P.O.S.T = Power on self test. Any beeps after that there is a problem with a device connected to the board.
You're Asus M2A-VM uses an Award bios. Click on the link below to see what Award beeps mean.

Try the memory reseat & check. Let me know if this helped.

When boot up i get 1 long and 2 short beep repeatedly. No additional hardware attach to mobo. Please advise

Thats a video card failure.

If the video card is build into the mainboard try attaching a another videocard to the motherboard and see if it boots up

I know the beeping too well, I've had that happen on laptops and well a few desktops, if the new card doesn't solve the problem the mainboard is faulty.
