Switch for my craftsman 358.796441 electric edger has failed, and the sears parts website is no help... can you help?

I've been looking and looking for this. I found out that the Sears Service Center does NOT work on these units...their reason being that it is not cost effective. It is not very cost effective for someone who bought one and it has broken either! I will continue the hunt for the switch, but can't locate your model and/or parts for Sears electric edgers anywhere.

Here is the parts list and diagram from the Sears site but I did not see a part for the switch listed.

Look closely at this diagram and maybe the switch is incorporated into the handle part etc.

Remove all gas lines. remove screw mounting carb to block. Remove mechanical connections. Sears parts website shows you a blown up view of this product. This is also sold as a Troy Built. Normally a 3.5 hp B&S engine.

You will probably have to find someone who has the same model or a different model but has the part that looks the same and get there model numbers. You may just need to take a good look at yours and go to Sears to see if theirs are identical. Then get the model number information and order your parts. You can order by searching Craftsman parts and going to the Sears website and entering the model number and finding the part on the illustrated parts diagram and then look to the list at the right of the screen and find that number to get your part number to order. You will be able to order or if you look at the top of the page (i think) you can call order if you prefer.

Check the Sears website. You should be able to do a search by the model number there and access the diagrams in the parts lookup section.

We need a new blade for our craftsman edger

Go to www.searspartsdirect.com. Put your model number in of your edger.
It will show you a parts list , which will include your blade.

you can get parts thorugh several places here are 2 that I prefer
