Hi want to connect bose 901s with active equaliser to my pioneer sc-lx81

The setup is possible, but with several compromises. First off, to use the active equalizer, you'll need to insert this into one of the 2 channel AV channels limiting your listening with the equalizer to stereo only. The acoustimass subwoofer acts a driver/power regulator for the little cube speakers. It probably will not be able to drive the 901s at the correct level when attached to the Acoustimass unit as front left/right speakers. You could try running a dedicated set of speaker leads to the 901s which may work and still allow surround sound, but you'll lose the equalization capability on the 901s.

It sounds like you may have only the 901 loudspeakers, and not also the companion 901 equalizer box. You must install the 901 equalizer properly--using the tape monitor loop of the G901 receiver. If you of not, the 901 loudspeakers will perform poorly.

No speakers will run without an amp.

The Active Equalizer must be somehere in the Line Level path between any source and whatever amp is exclusively driving Bose 901's, which makes the ZP120 useless as a networked music delivery system becuase everything IT outputs would be 901-encoded - unless you had 901's in every room.

The Sonos neither knows nor cares what processes are applied to the signal before it arrives through the Line Level inputs but the digital audio/ethernet route lacks anywhere to insert ANY analog processing, so 901's will not work with the ZP120 if the music originates elsewhere.

I'm not so sure how the claimed 55 watts would work out for 901's. I'd take that specification with huge grain of salt as this unit only weighs about 5 lbs.

Sony CD player Red / White RCA - > CD input RCAs on the Arcam.

From the Arcam Preamp Output RCA's, go to the Bose "Input". From the Bose "Output", you need RCA splitters to make them into four outputs to run your amplifier connections.

You won't need the equalizer - just connect the speakers to the receiver's speaker output for the front.

As far as I know, any equalizer will work. There is a guy on here that might know more about them, but I never had the Bose equalizer and I have Bose speakers for 35 years. The guy at the electronic store back then sold us a little equalizer at first, we graduated from that a long time ago, and now on the 3rd or 4th one. No problem, works great, sounds better than ever. Thanks guys, but i solved my problem, i experimented and decided that i would run my DVD player (Aux Out) as a CD player through the Equaliser in [Rec] and from equaliser out [Play] i went into Tape Play on Amp, then i connected my Turntable CD Radio System to the Tape 1 Rec on Equaliser and then from Tape 1 Play on Equaliser went into the Tape 2 on AMP then i could use Aux in on Amp to connect my Laptop via my laptops headphone socket my laptop has an equaliser so i didn't need to connect to pioneer EQ, i also connected a small 5.1 to the DVD's 5.1 and connected 4 *45w Speakers to the AMP. and i can say it was FANTASTIC i couldn't get to 5 on my volume it was un @$#%believable.
