The display went out on my JVC KD-S23 CD player. When it's dark, I shouldn't be able to see anything coming from it when the car is turned off, but all the buttons and the screen is faintly illuminated, just enough to know that it isn't fully turned off, but it will not respond to any button pushes, or anything. It will not play the CD that is in, and it will not play the radio. What do I do?

just because the connectors are the same, nothing says they are WIRED the same. you could very well be sending power to nothing.

I am thinking you can connect with a 3.5 m m. Jack, with left right input jacks connected to it. Going to give it a try. Also might try the phone the same way.

push the rest buttom on the cd player it should be in the back or top itf the face come off it will be in the front

I would suggest checking the accessory (red wire), the yellow is a constant feed from the battery, which will allow the clock to be displayed no matter what. The accessory wire is what is used to turn on the cd player. You may need to restrip the red wire and check the lead going to the red wire with a test light to make sure it is getting a voltage light.

Push the Sel button and hold for 3 seconds (usually displays Demo or Demo Off). Push the Station up and down button til it reads Clock H or Clock M. Turn the volume button to adjust time. Push the Sel button to quit.
