Ambassador 111 Electrolux canister vacuum, model C101H, stopped running for no apparent reason.

    Sears repair service has advised the motor is bad and no longer available but I'm not ready to accept that as the final answer. A look at the power harness is certainly worthwhile and also a look at the brushes inside the motor. I suspect Sears is more a parts replacement operation than a repair service.

    I have the same problem. My Electrolux Ambassador will not turn on -- no power whatsoever. It has been working fine with no indication of something going wrong. Is there anything like a reset button?

Had same problem about a year ago. Had it serviced and was advised the power harness of which the retractable cable had to be replaced.

Take to a independent vacuum dealer parts are available and its not that hard to fix. If you cannot find part go to www.banksvac.com you can get parts from them they have or can get and fix anything

How do i open the housing of an electrolux ambassador model #c101j to fix cord recoil
This can be a complex undertaking, so I highly recommend taking it to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for repair. I've seen many disassembled machines come in to the shop because the owner couldn't figure out how to put it back together. Any misplaced wires during reassembly can result in nonworking vacuum, shock and even fire hazard.
Taking it to the shop may cost more, but I believe is less expensive in the long run. They'll do it right.

Bag full switch is bad
I assume this is an Electrolux Canister with long narrow body and a dial control on top for adjusting the bag fill level.. Please confirm model and name on canister, as in LE, Ambassador, Renaissance, etc.
If this is a plastic bodied unit with 2 side bumpers the body opens like a **** shell after sliding the bumpers out the front. The normal cause is a failed control valve under the dial at the top center of the vac. The failed part can only be replaced, not serviced and can purchased through an AERUS Electrolux repair center. Please confirm and I can wa;lk you through the process if required

I have an Ambassador canister model Electrolux. The powerhead shut off and the brush doesn't turn. There is nothing wrapped around the brush and the connection from the handle to the power head is fine....

I need a price for a wand for my electrolux ambassador 2100 vacuum cleaner
This same wand is used on all older canister models since 1974 until about 1995.
Metal wand, about $24.
Upper wand assembly, about $34.

Parts should be available at any Aerus shop.
Of course, you can try to find used ones, often with complete vacuum, at second hand stores, pawn shops, yard sales, estate sales, etc.

it does have an internal thermal overload device you need to put the vacuum into the shop they should be able to fix it in a few days
