The dial pad on my touch screen phone does not come up to place a call... i can not text or dial any numbers. it seems the left side of my screen does not work... but once clicked on...still accesses the right side. therefore i amunable to even perform a master reset or master clear. please advise.

• To set volume for media and videos, from the home
screen, touch Menu > Settings > Sound &
display > Media volume.

• To play tones when using the dial pad, from the
home screen, touch Menu > Settings > Sound
& display > Audible touch tones.

• To play sound on a screen selection, from the home
screen, touch Menu > Settings > Sound &
display > Audible selection.

That must be a hardware problem. Your touch pad need to be replaced with a new one. If your phone still covered with manufacturer warranty, you can have it repair free of charge. But if not, you can bring it to any phone repair shop to fix it.

You need to replace touch pad. Parts cost around $25. Fairly easy to replace. Once you see it you will know how to replace, Go on ebay and put in lg vu touch screen and you should pull up parts for your phone. Or just google lg vu replacement touch.

just try this.. enter service menu by pressing jog dial up, *, jog dial down, jog dial down, *, jog dial down, *.
jog dial is rounded things at the right side of the p1, slide it up or down, follow the instruction.
then enter the menu hardware test, lcd test, write something in ur touch pad, if the letter u wrote visible it mean ur lcd fine.. so , just close the menu and its magic.... its worked.

The neon cant text with a touch screen. The touch screen only works when dialing a number

ok so i might sound really stupid because the lg neon's keypad is for dialing only but yesterday i was like pressing a bunch of buttons on accident and like letters came up on the touch screen and like i pressed the end button to see if it will go back to normal and now i cant get it to get lit to text on the keypad i cant even believe it did it and it was totally by a mistake has this ever happened to anyone? 

u have to press the un;lock button on the side or touch the screen to unlock it while on a call and then u press dial pad and then u just wenter whatever number you want.

I have the same problem. I can no longer use any of the touch screen keys on the right side of my phone. This means that I can not receive any more texts because I can not empty out my in box, I cannot get to my menu, voicemail, make a call by the number pad --- this phone has become useless!

Try this. Touch Keypad simulates a wireless phone keypad on the touch screen to allow you to enter text, numbers, and symbols just as if you were using a wireless phone keypad. Touch Keyboard simulates a 20-key QWERTY (typewriter) keyboard on the touch screen to allow you to enter text, numbers, and symbols similar to the way you would using a QWERTY keyboard. To use Touch Keypad or Touch Keyboard:  In a program, tap the Input Selector arrow, and then tap Touch Keypad or Touch Keyboard. To type lowercase letters, tap the keys on the dial pad or keyboard. To type a single uppercase letter, tap the Shift key and then tap the corresponding key. To type all uppercase letters, tap the Shift key twice. To change back to all lowercase letters, tap again. To enter a space after the word, tap the Space key. To start a new line, tap the Enter key. To backspace and delete a single character in any input mode, press the Back key. To open the Symbol pad, tap the Symbol key. To change the input mode:  Tap the Input mode key to switch to a different input mode: XT9 (predictive), Multitap (abc), or Numeric (123).

I have this all the time: 1. Inbox/ sent msgs are 2 full - so delete msgs 2. remove the battery out & clean sim card 3. If that doesnt work get a new simcard 4. if else fails- get a new phone
