Printronix P5000 started printing garbage (over network and directly). The tech changed the NIC card and the system board and the printer doesn't register any errors. We can ping the printer but only garbage still prints (both network and directly). Settings are all the same as they were previously. Any suggestions?

yeah I ran into this once, set the printer up to ethernet and not auto switching, i think thats what it was.

I believe you have this setting incorrect: the MFRTYPMDL should be *IBM6400EP. That is because you want the AS400 to send out plain old ASCII to our printer. It is an ASCII printer and not a HP. The codes are different.

just go to Emulation and set Protocol as EPSON FX..... and install Windows Driver Epson FX-1050.... it work for both DOS as well as Windows...
