Sewing machine does not sew. Finished sewing something, turned it off, then turned it on a few hours later and it will not work. Light is on but nothing happens when the foot pedal is pressed. Took apart the foot pedal and nothing seems to be burnt.

Call Singer at 1-800-4singer and ask for their advice, you do not want to void your warranty with not going to an authorized repair service if it comes to that. Good luck

My husqvarna rose is sewing without me! I am doing something and suddenly it starts sewing straight and does not stop till i turn the power off

You probably need to have that checked. Until then, be sure to always unplug the machine when you are finished--don't want to start sewing while you are away from the house.

I have a Singer Futura Quartet SEQS-6700 sewing machine. Keep getting error code 16, but there is no explanation in the product manual. Can you help?

Generally the error message is due to "some" electrical overload. It settles itself most times by turning off the sewing machine for a few seconds to allow complete shut-down and then turning it back on. It the error message returns, it is best to visit your qualified local technician.

Sewing machine slows to a stop.

When was the last time you oiled it?

Sewing machines need regular oiling as you use them - it sounds like you have or are close to seizing the bearings.

In future, when you smell burning and a machine that should operate at full speed slows down - stop, don't persist in using it.

It clearly has something wrong with it.

Your users manual should cover oiling the machine - there are predetermined points at which you drop the sewing machine or 3-in-1 oil into. Only a few drops are necessary, but you should oil it every few hours of use.

Single 8280 sewing machine handwheel not turning

okay, i have never used a sewing machine except for once, but i do know quite a bit about them because my grandmother knows a lot to. so, here we go. take the spool of thread off of the machine now, locate the thing (i'm not sure what its called) that the spool rests on. now, push it in and turn it at the same time. test it out. keep doing that until it works. it might take as much as an hour, but at the same time it could just take a few simple seconds. good luck.

Good evening madam
It sounds like there is something wrong with the electrical system in your sewing machine. You can check the power and connections.

Why does my new Singer cg-500 stop working, then start for a little bit and stop again?

Probably thread wrapped around something....takeup crank, motor pully...if you can get inside to have a look great, if not, find someone who can.

My Janome sewing machine wont stop.

The only thing I can think of is that the foot pedal may be slightly stuck and not returning fully up after being depressed. Unplug the foot pedal and check for anything stuck there then give it a good wiggle up and down a few times.

Hot to stop a a previous transmition

If you don't have the transmission box up with the "Cancel" button up, then there's a few steps you have to take. First, close the software on your computer. Next, turn of the sewing machine. Unplug the USB cord both from the sewing machine and from the back of your PC. Now plug the USB back into the computer, then the sewing machine & turn the machine back on. Finally, reopen the software. This should clear the "buffer" between your computer and the machine of the pending transmission. I've had to do this every time I have a finished design before I can start a new one.
