We can send faxes with no issues but when we receive a fax that has multiple pages after the first couple of pages we get half pages, partial prin or blank pages. We were told it was a possible system board issue so we replaced the Brother 4100e with a new one and are having the same issue. Has anyone ever heard of this. I am leaning toward a possible line issue but not positive. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it pulling two pages at once? Sometime a machine will start to pull a sheet normally, then the page below it will get dragged along by the friction between the two sheets. One page's print gets divided between the two. If that looks like the case, pull out the paper drawer, remove the paper, and lightly sand the little rubber or cork pad at the front, then wipe the dust off with a damp cloth and let it dry. Before putting the paper back in, grasp the stack at one end, and "fan" the other, allowing air to get between all the sheets.

Get into the machine's Paper menu to see what size is programmed for the tray. If you have Letter size in there, but it's set for some other size, all kinds of feeding problems can occur, including false jams.

The paper feed roller is controlled by a magnet lever inside the right side of the machine. It should click once to start each sheet feeding. I've seen one Fax 4100e that clicked over and over, feeding extra sheets, just like you described. It turned out to be the system board. Worse yet, Brother had switched factories in mid-production of this model, and the replacement board they sent us fed paper just fine, but wouldn't do anything right on the phone line. Couldn't dial, couldn't answer. They sent another replacement, and it was exactly the same. Brother eventually broke down and sent a replacement machine.

Thanks but it is not feeding multiple sheets. We are looking into line issues with the VOIP.

Does the fax machine have its DSL filter? If you're running VoIP over the phone lines, that sounds like a DSL connection. Lack of a filter on the fax could explain the problems with both systems.

This is a company running Avaya VoIP and 600 employees. No dsl.

My fax machine MX532 won't let me send a fax though the machine

Hello,

This is probably an issue for the receiving fax. Try this:

1. Find a piece of paper and write fairly large:
Call me if you get this
Your name
Your phone number

2. Send this to a different fax machine at a different company and location. If it works, then attempt to send it to the same fax you initially attempted.
- If it works then your document may be too large and you will have to send it over a couple pages (or less at a time).
- If it doesn't work then there is a compatibility issue with either your or the receiving end fax machine. You will have to find an alternative fax number to a different model fax machine. Don't expect the company on the other end to just change out their fax machine but they may have another model at a different phone number.

Another alternative - you can attempt to scan your documents and send them by email but check with your and the receiving destination security departments.

Best wishes,
Joe

Will not fax but will receive

Sounds like you are faxing multiple pages through the document feeder and it is trying to grab a few sheets instead of just one.
If you are doing multiple pages make sure they are aligned and separated.
Maybe fan the pages and then pat them on a level surface to make sure they are aligned.

How do I fix an "error 442" on the fax part of my hp 6110 all-in-one

Per HP:

Definition

An error occurred during transmission after one or more partial pages were sent. The sending machine was unable to restart the control channel connection(handshake) before sending more data. This error typically occurs when the receiving fax disconnects after receiving part of a page. It can also be caused if the receiving fax is using a fax format incompatible with the HP fax (usually during color faxing).

Solution

Try the fax at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved.

Faxing issue

To my knowledge, you can only fax multiple pages from the printer itself. Place the fax page on the glass, press "fax" ,then press "black" or "color" after doing this to all the pages, press "ok" They have now been sent. I am assuming that you have your phoneline connected correctly to the printer. You should be able to hear it on another phone extension when your fax modem dials.

When I send a fax from our Brother Intellifax 2800, the person receiving the fax gets the fax but half of the page is blacked out, what is the problem?

sounds like your cis (contact image sensor) which lights up and reads your original, is bad. that component is located under the keypad/control panel. if you make a copy, it should also be partially balck if that is the problem.
