I have a JBL DPS 10 sub woofer makes a loud!! humming sound throughout whole system. woofer is fine tested that continuity is o Ohms from the to prongs of the plug I read some of the solutions on site. indicating capacitors but don't have a diagram to check? which cap and tolerence.

i have an jbl acr 10 sub, which blowes the 0.62 sb fues instantly. Could it possibly be the pair of 3300uf @ 50v gone bad?

Sometimes bad caps show a lifting or rounding of the top of the cap, sometimes this top will split from heat and pressure and sometimes it will not show any sign of damage but will be dry inside and its capacitance value will drop to a very low value. Replace the big power supply caps and test again. Get the same size, value and voltage rating. You can go higher on voltage rating and a bit on value. Getting a similar size or something that will fit in the same space is important also.

Just touch your fingertip to the input connector on the sub -- similar noise? That would be its amp picking up the hum of the room through your antenna-like body. IF that is the same noise, you need to make sure your input cable is shielded and connected at both ends BEFORE applying power to the electronics at either end.

Be mindful of electronic noise sources such as track lighting, UV lights, motors, TV's, etc, and route the signal and power cables well away from them.

Try reversing the orientation of the AC plug at the sub and see if that helps out.

sounds like you have check just about everything -- but since it is a JBL speaker it is worth taking into a re-coning shop and have them take a look at the speaker itself,, it sounds like you might have a bad speaker coil and you are getting cross-over interference. they will be able to tell you for sure in about 3 minutes after putting a meter on the unit,, and the cost will be very reasonable.
