It is not true that the condenser fan is always on on a sub zero -- it's controlled by the control board, and will only stay on if the "vacuum condenser" indicator is on. If the "vacuum condenser" indicator is off, the condenser fan should only run when either (or both) of the compressors are running.

The condenser fan makes a very slight humming sound when it runs. You can open the cover on the top of the fridge (it's spring loaded -- pull from the top), and you can see it running when it's on.

Good day,
On models with 2 compressors the condenser fan motor runs 24/7. It must since the compressors run randomly and that motor must be on since it handles both units.

Fan noise is subjective. It itself makes little noise but the blade does. If for example the blade was changed from the nylon style to a metal blade (good idea) then it would be somewhat louder.
If the noise is not objectionable then I would use it as is.

My refridgerator is a 550 sub zero and it will not freeze in the freezer and the temperature in the fridge is off as well. What do I do?

It is likely the condenser fan is not functioning or the condenser is plugged with dirt. You may need to open the compressor access panel to check. If you can hear the compressor running, and the condenser feels warm, the fan should be running. If it isn't, it probably needs to be replaced.

Sub-zero 550 refrigerator is too cold--icing at boottom near vegetable bins. Temperature is eratic--a lot of variation between top shelf and bottom and frequently shifting and changing.

It is very common for this refrigerator to have a freon leak in the evaporator.
Since you need a EPA license, This is usually beyond the scope for the home owner to repair.

Sub zero wine cooler showing 78 and76 and says

Clean the condenser located under the unit. This may help. However, more serious problems involve refrigeration leaks shorted thermistors and non running fan motors. All are common. I recommend an authorized Subzero tech for this unit if cleaning the condenser does not help.

Make sure no moisture condensation on the freezer compartmentsurfaces as walls and shelfs. If so wipe it out. Pull out and remove upper basket from the freezer, push fan switch which is located almost under ice maker. You have to hear evaporator fan motor start working. Still not work? Subzero Model 550, freezer not working properly

Blow out the condenser with an air compressor. Make sure the evaporator coil is not frosted up, if so, the drawer may naot have been closed properly, or you may have a defrost problem, (timer, terminator, etc). Possible freon leak in the high side drain loop. Compressor may not be pumping efficiently, could have a bad condenser fan motor.
