Good day,
Are talking bout the PS/2 keyboard (the one with rounded plug)? The socket for this type of keyboard is soldered in the board. The more usual problem is that the pins of the socket is teared off the board, and needs to be soldered again. You may disassembled the board from your casing and solder the keyboard socket. Just do it carefully not to burned the board and the other circuitry.
Needs more help - just post again here at Fixya.
Good luck.

Delete button keys not working laptop

Unlikely, good diagnosis though. You don't have much option there: Try a keyboard attached to it to see if that same key on the external keyboard works. If yes it means you will neeed to replace your laptop keyboard.
If it doesn't try to uninstall the keyboard driver and restart. keep your spare usb keyboard just in case, reinstall the driver from samsung support and download website if necessary.

Cheers

The character keys and numeral keys dont print only make a noice when pressed

From your query I interprete as they key is not displayed in the screen. First check with the external usb keyboard. If the external keyboard is also not working, please check the keyboard layout in the control panel regional settings. If the external keyboard is working well, change the laptop keyboard.

My daughters key board on her lap top has started to act crazy you can't backspace and you can not type double letters you have to wait a second for it to keep typing any suggestions

First, try to connect an external USB keyboard & see if it will work fine.
If the external USB keyboard works fine, then you will need to replace your laptop's keyboard, as there is almost nothing that can be done to fix a defective laptop keyboard.

sounds like a faulty keyboard to me, I recommend removing the keyboard, and blowing out the connector with a can of air and reinstalling the keyboard. if that does not work I would connect a USB keyboard to make sure it is not a setting. If a USB keyboard is working fine, replace the keyboard.

Ctrl keys dont work, bought new key board and have same problem, have windows XP

First rule out drivers
- remove the keyboard driver and instruct windows to reinstall the driver

Next check for hardware issues
1. Plug this keyboard into another PC to see if the same problem persists
2. If the problem does occur it is the keyboard (get a new one if that is the case)
3. If the problem does occur then it is not the keyboard it is the port that u are plugging it into.

IS IT USB?
4. If it is a USB Keyboard, plug it into another USB port
5. If the problem persists on all USB ports on the system board, then the problem is the USB ports only IFF the keyboard works fine on another system in other USB ports

Is it PS/2?
If it is not a USB keyboard and it is a PS/2 board, again, and it works fine on another PC, then you have a defective PS/2 port on the system board.

Solution
Get a PCI card with USB ports and install it. Plug ur keyboard into that.

Trying to install windows and at the boot screen have my keyboard and mouse plugged in windows doesnt see it.. I tried the USB keyboard and nothing I just recently replaced the MOBO using anti-static wrist...

I have seen this before, and the best answer I can offer you is some Motherboards are better than others when working with usb devices while no OS is in place. I actually tried using usb / to / ps/2 adapters and it still would not recognize the usb keyboard in a couple of instances. I had to get a ps2 keyboard for the installation of windows. After windows was installed I hooked up the usb keyboard and it worked fine. (just speaking from my own personal experience here)

Sorry I do not have a more technical answer for you but I'm almost 99.9 % sure this should work, providing there is no problem with the ps2 keyboard port on the Motherboard. I have never failed to install windows unless there was another hardware based issue of some kind, but never a problem with a known good ps2 keyboard.

Just double check everything is seated properly and try to get into the bios setup, if you cannot use the usb keyboard for this, you can try the usb / ps2 adapter, but if that doesn't work either then use a regular ps2 keyboard. That should work fine, then after setup is complete, windows is installed, then your usb keyboard should work fine.
