I have a 120gb slim ps3 and when ever i seem to put a game any game (eg. fifa 11, COD4) my ps3 will either freeze in the process of loading a game or during game play and online it will freeze (music sound FX etc will still play in the process and some times pressing the middle button in the controller will allow me to quit the game or do other processes, other times it will just freeze and nothing) im starting to think its faulty... Is there any one else experiencing the same problem? what can be done? what is the problem? thanks

First, u clean d fifa CD properly and reinsert.if it didnt work try this,delete ur fifa save game data and reinstall.

Hello try a fan test to see if the fans are working properly , take the power lead out of the back then reinsert the lead in while doing this press and hold the eject button you should hear the fans boot up. this may blow all the dust out, also try an update on the console good luck

Try other games to see if it freezes, as well as trying a movie won't hurt

Otherwise it's the disk drive, I'd send it in, hopefully you're still under warranty.

This problem has nothing to do with your PS3!! Its Fifa 11 which is very full of glitches. This freezing problem is a known bug and Fifa or EA doesnt seem to care about it. if you search online you'll see multiple people with similar complaints on EA forums and few or no replies from EA. They havent come up with a fix yet. all you can do is wait for an update (ie. Fifa 12)

It's eiyther one of two problems:

The first is that FIFA 11 is screwed up due to an EA Sports programming glitch within the game - (see http://www.community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Technical-Help/FIFA-11-Error-80010514/m-p/11614173))

OR

The second is that your PS3 is dying and the laser won't read discs. Which gets progressively worse, or so i've read. - (see http://www.ps3blog.co.za/2008/04/10/ps3-error-80010514-explained/)

I'm getting the same error but my PS3 isn't yet 12 months old, so is going back to the store.

P*ssed that I can't play the new FIFA though!!!!

I have a ps3 slim 120GB and it keeps freezing up on me, weather on the internet browser or playing a video game. But it doesn't do it while gaming online.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND SLIMS OF ANYTHING BECAUSE THE COOLER aka AC IS SMALLER AND NOT AS BIG IF U GOT A REGULAR 1 U WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM

Fifa 10 keeps freezing normally this is at the start when loading. Any ideas please ?
First make sure no other games are freezing. If other games freeze also, then the problem is not with Fifa 10. If your other games are fine, you will need to replace Fifa by either an exchange or, if stores won't do that for you, you'll have to sell and purchase a new game.

most likely your ps3 or ya graphics.ya ps3 eye must be realy damaged and can read only those games.i got those same games cod4 and cod5 it could also be tyranch the company who made the realy gory and bloody kills for cod5 ive heard some tyranch games do damage to ya ps3!

The Fifa 08 game has problems if you are not using a "HD" output. So if you don't have a Hi-def TV then don't buy this game (It is why i didn't buy the PS3)! I am not sure about the other game.
